I'm going to be honest and this is just my opinion but this book just wasn't that good. I went in thinking it would be a great mystery but instead I got a plain storyline where s9me points was almost predictable, but what frustrated me the most were the missed opportunities and the forced subplot lines.
All in all I don't think I will be reading the rest of the books if the first book is like this.

UPDATE: Hour 10.5 — this is a good enough mystery to keep me reading the second in the series, but the writing style is a little stilted for my taste.

My current beach read courtesy of @Kimberlone got some beach time today. She knows I love EVERYTHING Sherlock Holmes related. Thus far I haven't made much of a dent in my pile of books brought, but I've been having a stellar time. #birthday #sherlock #mexico #beachreads
Loved it!! This book had me hooked from the start. I‘ve seen reviews lamenting the stilted love story, but it didn‘t bug me. What I cared about was the mystery and it pulled me along just perfectly. A fun escape!
My hazelnut hot cocoa has been a perfect companion. 😋
This gives me a total of 18 hours. I‘ll have to read into the night to finish the full 24.

I liked this audiobook enough to finish it, but it‘s not the best Sherlock spin-off ever. I liked the concept & enjoyed the presence of Watson. The plot is good, but there are times where simple things are explained when they don‘t need to be. Most people reading this have probably read Sherlock books and mysteries before, so it doesn‘t need to be dumbed-down. There‘s a romance but not much chemistry. Overall, a good book. @Clwojick -mystery
Thanks to Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler, Sherlock's skills and spirit still live in the form of a young lady whose deductive powers seem matched by no one! In The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes, the two Watsons and the new Sherlock are out to solve a complicated mystery involving treasure, codes, and murder...couldn't put it down!
I really enjoyed this book! I thought it captured the essence of Sherlock Holmes, but still had a fresh perspective. I‘m looking forward to continuing the series.

Thought the whole concept of a daughter of Sherlock Holmes intriguing. An aged Watson is alive, but Holmes is dead. Their lives intersect with Joanna, Holmes‘ daughter when a desperate young woman arrives at Watson‘s doorstep step seeking help about her brother‘s death. Thus begins a tale with many deaths, twists and turns. Watson‘s doctor son joins the two in an investigation.
Loved it! A fresh update that read like a Sherlock Holmes novel!
"I am merely an old man trying to stay relevant" - Dr. John Watson
I'm a fan of most everything Sherlockian and so the first book in a new series in which the famous detective has had a daughter and she's as brilliant as her father is a must read. Couple that with the fact that this modern telling mimics the originals by giving us a new Dr. John Watson (son of the original) for a narrator and partner in crime solving, and it becomes a must read now. High marks all around!
I am in awe at this baby! First, the cover is glorious. Then, Sherlock Fucking Holmes and Irene Awesome Adler‘s daughter?! Working with Watson‘s own son? I am ALL for it! I need to finish reading the Complete Sherlock Holmes Stories first (I read them all years ago though)...
I always love a Sherlock Holmes story. I really enjoyed Sherlock's daughter but wasn't crazy about how the Watson's we're portrayed. She had to spoon-feed them some basic stuff.
I need a fun quick read! Enter this beauty...
Library haul!
My March reads. Not a bad month. 📚🍀I enjoyed almost every book I read or listened to.
I enjoyed this book. Overall, it stayed true to Watson and his relationship to Holmes. The new characters- Watson's son and Sherlock's daughter- were well written.
Was skeptical in the beginning. The daughter of Sherlock and Irene? Then put her together with Watson and his son? However, I'm 1/2 done and enjoying it.

1910. When Joanna Blalock and her son witness a man fall to his death, they are visited by Dr. John Watson and his son, Dr. John Watson Jr. Impressed by her forensic and deductive skills, they invite her to become the third member of their deductive team. The unknown child of the now dead Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler, the only woman to ever outwit Holmes, Joanna has unwittingly inherited her parents' deductive genius. Just got this one. Hmm?
