pickThis book follows Anne during her 4 yrs at Redmond and taking her B.A. During her first year she is renting a room, but for the remaining years she and her friends are lucky and get to rent Patty‘s Place. In Anne‘s view the most perfect house.
For a woman who thought she never would get married when we first meet her in the first book, she sure get a lot of marriage proposals in this one. Some more romantic than others

Life is overwhelming, so I‘m just riding out the rest of the year with Anne Shirley. This is my first time reading the series and it is an absolute delight. Also, bought the final three books in these editions to complete the series because they‘re just all so pretty. 😍

I‘m still reading many of the same books as last week since I read a chapter/ story a day. So no books finished this week, but hope to finish Christmas for One and Shuggie Bain soon, and I hope to start The Ten Loves of Mr Nishino this week.
Got distracted by life stuff yesterday, so starting the third book of our #kindredspiritsbuddyread now! I've only the vaguest memory of this, so really looking forward to the experience.
pickThe second book about Anne and I loved this just as much as the first one. For me this is so the right time to read about Anne, it‘s so cozy.
We meet Anne at 16 and when she starts her new adventure as a teacher. I loved the new additions of the twins, especially Davy, Mr Harrison and Miss Lavender.
I was a little surprised by how Lott Diana there was in this on, and Gilbert is just mentioned once or twice.

pickStill determined to catch up on #HeyCarrots by rereading the Anne books - this is actually May's book but... That's life!! ? Anyway I love this entire series so much. In this one, Anne realizing not just that life doesn't always match "ideals" but, more importantly, that sometimes "ideals" aren't actually ideal, is one of my favorite themes.
The next three Anne books are on my #BookSpinBingo - trying to get caught up by the end of August!!

so-soFor a while I thought this would be my fave of the series so far. Then I kept reading, LOLSOB. I do like Anne more now that she‘s older, love seeing her in college working toward her goal of being a writer & educator. But aaaall the proposals she gets just got silly, the side plots were random & pointless, and there are two scenes of animal cruelty b/c Montgomery was a twisted bitch. Also still too much Davy. I‘ll keep reading but...oy vey. 2/5 ⭐️
JFC people in LM Montgomery‘s time sure liked killing small, defenseless, harmless animals 😠😠😠 At least this time they seem to have failed. But seriously, what the hell??
I‘m hoping book 3 will be a better reading experience, now that Anne is a little more grown up and hopefully there is very little Davy in this one. I‘m convinced that kid is the most annoying child character ever written. #nowreading
pickWhat a sweet, charming little book. I could almost despise Anne for what she does to Gilbert. But after many proposals and friends' weddings, she finally realizes her life will not be worthwhile without him. How can I trick my 17 year old to read this series?

The graveyard is very full and very bowery, for it is surrounded and intersected by rows of elms and willows, beneath whose shade the sleepers must lie very dreamlessly, forever crooned to by the winds and leaves over them, and quite undisturbed by the clamor of traffic just beyond.

My teenage boys came with me on all my walks this past weekend. No chance of an audio walk with them! So rare that they voluntarily just hang out with me ....there was bound to be some talking! And there was.
Back to my solitary audio walks on the weekdays!

This may not be as strong as the first two in the series (I am sure a lot of people might disagree) but it is still a very enjoyable read.🌻
This is really not giving me the same good feeling as the previous ones... Yet I couldn't ever think of quitting it. Halfway
pickThird in the Green Gables series and we meet Anne again between the ages of 18-20. A lot goes on in these years, she has a fair few marriage proposals, studying for a BA and a host of social events. Anne is really starting to grow up now and id say she has lost her charming imagination. Its a shame but I'm still endeared to her and look forward to seeing where the path leads her next.

I finished listening to another delightful novel in the Anne of Green Gables series on my beach walk this morning. Now that Anne's love life is finally heating up, do you think I should follow her to Windy Poplars? 😁

pickI rated this one 4.5 out of 5 stars. I like how Anne grows up and falls in love. On a side note, I watched the first season one Anne with an E. I wish it had been a truer adaptation but as a reinterpretation of the books it‘s quite enjoyable.

pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: oh Anne, my heart broke in this book, the crew is older and wiser. I absolutely loved Phil Gordon and poor Ruby Gillis. It took the whole book for that ending, but it was well worth it.
My heart breaks everytime I read Gilbert's rejected proposal to Anne. Just like it does when I read Mr. Darcy's first failed proposal.
