“You did it! Hooray! It's the perfect first try! This great flop is over. It's time for the next!“
This is an important book as it helps the students think about the importance of trial and error and if we fail at first, we must try again and work hard to accomplish our goals.
This story talks about a young girl that looked up to her aunt that showed her how she can use her imagination to create and form inventions that will make an impact on the world. She learns how to create more inventions that will be useful and how to make them work.
Rosie wanted to be a great engineer when someone laughed at one of her inventions. She then hides her tinkering away. She gets brave and tries to make something else for her aunt. She fails but her aunt convinces her to try again.
Delightful. Told in sing song rhymes with fun pictures. Echoes of Rosie the Riveter down to her kerchief.
The second stop in our #librotravels was the Book Haven in Salina, CO. Cute store with a mix of new and used.
“Rosie Revere, Engineer”, RF, is a New York Times Best Seller. This book is all about following your passion and pushing through failures as seen through a second-grade girl who wants to be a great engineer. She loves to invent but she finds herself in a hard spot. This book can be great for partner reading! The cool factor on this is blowing up the thermometer.

Rosie loves tinkering and engineering, but struggles with failure—her Aunt Rose teaches her how failure is an important part of inventing. This book has fabulous colorful and whimsical illustrations. #picturebook #childrensbooks
Another great children‘s book about encouraging your children in their passions to do great things.
Stormy is FULL. I think I have 5-6 new tote bagels. Have gotten almost everything I wanted except for magic misfits after a rude person pushed me and said the line started back there!! (The people running the booth said there was no line. Tired but happy. And 6 more hours to go.
Next stop luggage check.

This RF is a MUST in your classroom library. The story is of a young girl named Rosie who makes anything out of everything, even trash. She‘s an engineer in the making until her project flops and she no longer wants to try to create. She then gets a visit from someone who sparks her imagination and teaches her a valuable lesson. #UCFLAE3414 Https://www.andreabeaty.com/rosie-revere-engineer.html
My daughter and I have read 1000 📚's together in less than a year! So proud she's a book nerd--not that she had a choice 😂 Her star made it to the 1000 book display at our local library today!!! #kidsbooks #librarylove #booknerd
One of our favorite books this year has been Rosie Revere, Engineer. 💪
This awesome F New York Times Best Seller would be great for RA. This book describes Rosie and her passion for being an engineer. Her uncle discourages her from pursuing her dreams but her Aunt tells her to keep trying even if she fails. UDL 6.1 Guide appropriate goal-setting. ESOL 41. Have students compile notebooks of their hypothesis, materials, procedures, data, conclusions of experiments, and field experiments #UCFLAE3414F17
Written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, this RF/P PB is a New York Times bestseller and would be great for a RA. This book is about Rosie, a budding engineer, who invents gizmos that often fail. But she doesn't give up and tries to fix her mistakes. You could use this book for a poetry lesson or for STEAM subjects. https://www.andreabeaty.com/rosie-educational-resources.html
Rosie Revere Engineer written by Andrea Beaty and Illustrated by David Roberts is a NYTBS RF picture book and would be a perfect RA in the classroom. This book is about a young girl who dreamed of becoming an engineer but failed and let down her uncle and then began to give up on her goals. Her aunt Rose comes around at the perfect time and reminds Rosie of how smart she is and to not give up because “The only true failure can come if you quit”.
Love this book! And I looked into different women in engineering, so here's a photo and quick blurb from some online magazine 😂
I loved this book! I did get a little teary on the last page, but my boys patiently waited for me to regain my composure. 😁
Sorry I've been a little MIA, friends. It's been a tough week, but I really appreciate the support I've had from all of you. I can't participate in #24in48 this time but I'll be rooting you all on! This book (and the whole series) is awesome! I love that there are struggles and naysayers and misunderstandings throughout, because it's so realistic but also inspiring. Just bought a copy for my cousin's new baby, and I will recommend it to everyone!
What a great concept. Not only is this little girl a budding engineer, creating and constructing all sorts of cool things from trash, but she fails. A lot. And that's awesome. The importance of failure - what a great thing to teach kids! Also, I love this picture, because one of my favorite things to ask my little one is to look at a picture of a person and imagine how they feel. You can only see half her face, and it still captures emotion.
Raising my girls to take over the world.
I read this book on March 10, 2017. It was pretty great. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am happy that I bought it for my nieces, who are four (they're twins).
The takeaway from this story? "The only true failure can come if you quit."

It's been a crazy few days with my son turning 4! Swimming with friends, cake and of course, a book haul! I've finally trained everyone to give him a book along with any toys. #blessed #ZeekApproved
5⭐️So cute!! I want our library to get more of Andrea's books! • " Life might have its failures, but this is NOT it. The only true failure can come if you quit."•
Just a couple of our beloved picture books featuring planes and automobiles and celebrating imagination and ingenuity! #photoadaynov16
I'm a happy dad when I get to see books like this at our book store #mygirlscandoanything
Nothing but the highest praise for this book. Wonderful message for young and old, and the art is soooo fun.
I love this book and am now a little mad at myself for not standing in line to get an autographed copy at BEA. It illustrates the the only way to fail is to quit. And that a girl can be anything she wants. Even an engineer.
Shy and quiet Rosie dreams of being a great engineer.
[its so nice to see books which celebrate the girls can do anything they set their mind to💪🏻]
I adore this book. It teaches kids that what matters is trying, rather than outcome. It also stars a girl and woman who are engineers. We need more books like this!
