It took me a while to get into this but once I was in, I was in. Sensitive misfits abound and hints of natural magic are tucked into each corner, as is Alice Hoffman‘s way. It‘s not my favorite of hers…but I can‘t imagine anything other than Practical Magic ever will be.

I was not expecting the Very Upsetting Thing that happens towards the very end. Check your trigger warnings (the big one is concealed in a spoiler below).

My parents have a condo in Florida. I came down with them just for the long weekend. I fly back to New England tonight and I can‘t say I‘m looking forward to leaving the pool behind!

I‘ve had this book on my shelf for probably a decade now. I think about bringing it every time I come down here. It finally made it into my carry-on. 🐢🌖

#SchoolsOut so I‘m on vacation buying books! I visited a new-to-me bookstore and got these books for $9. The proceeds benefit the local library.

It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read an Alice Hoffman book that I had forgotten just how much I love them. Murder, romance, a runaway and a baby make up this book. This was a great, quick read and was my choice for the #nightorientedtitle for #booked2019

Enjoying an afternoon read and some coffee in my new favorite mug. Side note: If you haven‘t seen O, go see it! It was so amazing.

Starting my next book with a drink in my hand and out by the pool while on vacation. Best way to read!

2. Either Alice Hoffman or Margaret Atwood. I know I love their writing & they each have a fair amount of novels I‘ve never read.
3. I don‘t think I‘ve had a crush on a cartoon character since Trent from “Daria”... but now I‘m just embarrassed about his soul patch. 😅

I‘m absolutely obsessed with reading all things written by Alice Hoffman. This is the third book of her‘s I‘ve read in 2018. I love her character development and how she intertwines the lives of her characters. I‘m on to number 4...

1. National Bookstore, the biggest bookstore chain in my country (PH)
2. Kindle app on my phone. Used to be Aldiko app before I discovered the wonders of Amazon. I have a few titles on Kobo, too. *Still aggressively saving for an ereader*
3. Seattle's Best Coffee here in PH bec it has the most memories. Lol
