I loved this movie as a child and upon realizing it was a book, I was very eager to see how the differed. There were many differences but the essential of the story was the same: a magical car creating magical adventures. It was a short listen but enjoyable.

What a charming, magical adventure! I enjoyed the story of the Potts family and need to watch the movie ASAP!

Such terrific stories, and David Tennants voice is perfect. I watched the movie first and the books are very different. I love all the characters especially the teenage girl Lucy who is introduced in the second book. Very fun short stories :)
This was a fun little adventure story made better with David Tennant reading it to me 💚.
#40miles20hours - currently at 9.89 miles this week and 6:19 for audiobooks
#24B4Monday - I of course forgot to start my timer when listening to my audiobook, but I know how long I had left.
Currently at 2:26:16 because I did have my timer going when reading my physical book.
I honestly had no idea this was a book! And it‘s narrated by David Tennant. 😍Loved the movie growing up!
I think I would have enjoyed this one more read aloud. The story is cute, the characters are just slightly less than flat (but likable for what they are anyway), and it‘s just long enough to be engaging.
This is such a cute kids book. Do not expect it to mirror the movie.
Who knew they made a book? If you were like me and only saw the movie, just wait until you read the book. The great story telling by Ian Fleming makes you believe you are truly there as you travel into a make believe world where anything and everything is possible.
“He looked as if he would burst with rage and his eyes were red with fury and his lips were drawn back from his big yellow teeth in a snarl.”
I loved the use of a thick point being used to the illustrations. This element created a more comic and vintage feeling when reading the story.
This book is exciting and uses elements of fantasy through a flying magical car. The plot contains a thrilling story of trying to catch robbers and animated adventure.
This family is funny and this would be very humorous to continue reading
This book has a sequel. The father in this story makes very weird inventions like their noisy, rebuilt car: chitty chitty bang bang.
-fantasy
This book was published 1964. This book is unlike other bigger children‘s books. This book is split up into 3 big parts. On almost every other page there is a very detailed drawing.
Their only hope, their only ally was chitty-chitty-bang-bang. And she was just a car- or was she?
I think this fantasy story would really gets kids imaginations going. It‘s a fairly short book and included some pretty neat black and white illustrations.
This is a story of a magical car that need to save its owners from danger. The family knows the car is no average car but the real question is if it‘s capable of saving them. The story is fun but a story of impossible occurrences with very eccentric characters.
Love this movie. It's crazy that Ian Fleming wrote this though.
My daughter and I just finished reading Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyon and have moved on to this! So far, the book and the movie don't coincide... Also, check out the complimentary bookmark that came with the book when I got it in the mail! #winning #notcatholic #freeisawesome
This book was super cute!
I may have vaguely remembered that Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but didn‘t realize that Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay for the movie. I saw this display earlier this week at the International Spy Museum in DC. I loved this movie as a child but never read the book. Cool bookish information that I picked up in an unexpected location.
I love these little blue and gold editions!
I definitely think I enjoyed this because I listened to it on audio. It's narrated by David Tennant and that really made this book for me.
I'll stick with the movie and Dick VanDyke.

I love this movie. More than Mary Poppins it's the reason I love Dick VanDyke. I've read this book forever ago.
I heard David Tennant's performance is fabulous (no surprise there) so I took advantage of the #audible sale. My daughter and I are going to listen to this for our next #MommySami buddy read. 💙💜🎧
And for #AndItsAugust #Drive who better than James Bond and his bad ass driving and iconic cars?
Also how did I not know Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
@RealLifeReading
My next #BuddyRead with the boys! All I had to do was mention "magic flying car", and they were sold. Which is lucky since I was sold ever since "read by David Tennant". ?

This audio book is so much fun my son is insisting we buy it😜 We got it from the library and it made our road trip to NYC a delight. Who knew Ian Fleming was such a great children's writer? I have to say though, that the accents and zest of the artist reading this book are so much fun I think this makes it one of those books that are much better in audio.
"Some cars...You may find... become almost like persons!"
The most interesting thing about this book is that it was written by Ian Fleming! #planestrainsautomobiles #photoadaynov16 #bond #jamesbond
