My mother's day present: a couple child-free hours to read at my favorite coffee shop. (Incidentally, @pocketmermaid sent me this book while I was in college almost 20 years ago. Progress on my massive TBR is slow but always enjoyable. ☺️📚)

So, my husband moved my books into our new house last week, and now I feel totally paralyzed over what I am going to read next ... #bookproblems

Mexican beans and rice -- yummy and SO easy, one of the only recipes I have ever made that SAYS it only takes 5 minutes, and then ACTUALLY only takes 5 minutes. Took the photo of my toddler's plate because his remained totally undisturbed. 😛 #cookbookproject #cookbooks

Barley risotto with peas and ricotta. I liked it a lot -- my husband and son were less impressed. Too bad, I froze a bunch and they'll be eating it three more times! #cookbookproject #cookbooks

Brown rice and lentil soup from my favorite cookbook. Very good, inexpensive ingredients, can be made with or without meat, and makes enough to freeze lots of leftovers. A win in my book! #cookbookproject #cookbooks
