pickI listened to the Graphic Audio #audiobook and was thrilled with my selection!
Some things were predictable, while a couple items surprised me. I “rode and did not die,” so I‘m in on the hype!
Though, I was disappointed in the big battle scene - Violet was practically useless - her ability didn‘t grow with the task set before her. She definitely frustrated me there.
It‘s a cold one in southeastern Michigan!
This is the perfect scenario to keep warm! 📚

pickThis whole series has Disney reimaginings. This one is Tangled! There are many similarities to the movie. While some of them seem a bit out of place for this narrative. The climatic scene is a little too tidy and there‘s only a paragraph conclusion. Overall a good book. I appreciated the slow build romance, both changed, and they do get their HEA ❤️
My favorite actress, Keira Knightley, will be starring in the Netflix adaptation of Ruth Ware‘s novel! Set to release Fall 2025. I plan on reading the book and then watching it.

I appreciated the morally gray, reluctant hero pirate captain. His past greatly influenced his decisions and made him a worthy person.

I spotted this #BlindDateWithABook while in Frankenmuth, MI, today. The tag intrigued me with the shipwreck; I‘m all about the nautical things. Sadly I didn‘t purchase it. But, I do take chances on blind dates.

pickThis was super enjoyable to read! It‘s one that made me want to delay bed time lol
The writing is done well, fast paced. The characters are super believable and are both rounded out by the end, each had something to learn. There are a couple spicy scenes, but done emotionally well.
Reminded me of my time spent living in the dorms at university. A very relatable book for me.
*spoiler alert 😂 some books and movies have their endings spoiled!

Many might not know his name, but may have heard his voice! Simon Vance has narrated many an #audiobook from the Temeraire series to the Aubrey/Maturin series to the Dune series! His voice is grand in style, comfortable in both male and female voices and dialects. When I listen to his stories I‘m transported inside the narrative thanks to his voice.
His in-house recording studio burned along with his house in the Eaton, California fires. ⬇️

I am so glad I finally read this one (actually listened to it)!
It was moody, atmospheric, riveting, fast paced, emotional. It had me second guessing who was “good” and “evil.” Like Mary I shouldn‘t doubt myself.
The ending was super touching ❤️ As persons we long for a human connection, not just ties to the land.
This is my third du Maurier story and I‘ve loved them all!!! (Rebecca and Frenchman‘s Creek)
