We do not care that our sister is always “sooooo busy” that she can‘t find an hour to collect something I picked up for her. As Queen Brene says “being busy is not a badge of honor”. We also do not care that she says she is “soooo full” so many times at the holiday that my kids have started to count and we all kick each other. 🤣 it‘s double digits y‘all. 🙄 WDNC!!!!

Love love loved this book. It had all of my favorite elements, generational families, coming of age, character driven, emotional. I read this for The Great Midwest book club on Instagram. The author joined our zoom and gave so much delightful insight into the care he took delivering these characters to us. He is also friends with Ann Patchett, omg. ❤️ 📚

Bonus - surviving another year of grief as I celebrated my mom with a Big Mac. The things you do for love 😘

5 ⭐️- a tumultuous journey, coming of age. All of the feels of joy and intense grief. Excellent narration. It was very palpable for me and I felt acute pain at times but the story was worth that.

Halloween holds many great memories for me. Trick or treating with my cousins, all of us urchins descending on my sweet grandma‘s mobile home park was always epic. My mom made a hilarious scarecrow “bum” that sat in front of our house each year, until he was stolen. We have also gone with our kids (as well as just my husband and I) to the Disney World and Disneyland Halloween parties. It‘s also my husband‘s birthday!

I have to preface with I‘m not a big fan of scary movies these days but as a teen I loved the Halloween series, also Amityville Horror (…imagine, that‘s allegedly a true story…😱). A few years ago I got scared with my then teens who “pressured me” into watching The Conjuring. I had to stand behind the couch for that one. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🐔

It‘s the little things. I was approved for this ARC and I‘m so excited. I just finished books #2 and #3 in the series on vacation. Light rom coms match my bandwidth this week. 🥰

@BookwormAHN #princeofdarkness I‘m picking up this month‘s book tomorrow. Watching a new Ozzy documentary on Paramount Plus tonight. It was recorded 2021-2024, it‘s hard to watch him deteriorate, but also interesting to see behind the curtain of this last chapter. 💔 🦇

I realize I have a lot of pictures for ransom of old Highschool friends, texted a few out to jostle the nerves - ha ha ha ha ha (imagine Crazy Train intro…) anyways, I enjoyed this book again and look forward to a chat about it.
