I (finally) caved and started the ACOTAR series.. and i am amazed it took me this long to read. I absolutely loved it! This had me branching out into the fantasy/romantasy genre. It almost reminded me of an adult fairytale - (Beauty and the Beast -esque). Can‘t wait to start the next book in the series ☺️

The perfect ending to an amazing trilogy. The beginning was a bit slow, but it picked up quickly and I read the last 2/3 of the book in one sitting. I‘m going to miss this series!

I struggled with rating this one. The problem for me is that the MC, Violet, is so incredibly unlikeable to me. She‘s self-centered and self-serving. She also has an immaturity about her that‘s insufferable. I also don‘t like the “teenage” Andarna this book, which is upsetting because I loved her in Fourth Wing. The twists and imagery of certain scenes saved this book, in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this book by “The Holistic Psychologist”. A lot of these chapters resonated with me, and there are a lot of topics she discusses that are things I happen to be working through in therapy myself. I can see how it might not be for everyone, but I personally got a lot from it and even will probably revisit certain chapters again.

The title/description of the book is very misleading. I was expecting more stories from people who experienced a deeper connection with their loved ones who passed, or more stories of the afterlife. Unfortunately, it was mostly an essay of a 6th generation “deathcare” (as he calls it) worker who no longer wants to work in this business but fears he will disappoint his family. A little disappointed, but still got a few nice stories out of it.

Loved reading this historical fiction set in ancient Pompeii. It was surprisingly more heart-warming than I imagined it to be, with a lot of scenes about friendship, forbidden love, and survival. The ending even managed to surprise me! So pleasantly surprised.

I was disappointed that I didn‘t love this book. Normally I can‘t put BOL books down, but this one I found myself struggling to get through. The characters are unlikeable, the storyline is a little dull, and it didn‘t flow very well. Also, Lucas‘ lines were so choppy and awkward. I‘m not sure if this was to portray his accent, but it didn‘t read nicely and almost caused me to give up on the book entirely.

Surprisingly enjoyed this book. It was (of course) predictable, but loved the banter between characters and there were a lot of funny scenes. It was the perfect comforting read for a cold day while watching Christmas movies in the background ❤️

A cute, hallmark-esque book with some steamy love scenes and funny moments. I don‘t mind a bit of a cheesy/predictable story (especially for a holiday-themed romance), but I have a hard time sticking with a book that has cheesy dialogue between the characters - which is why this book is a so-so pick for me. Also, the book haphazardly switches POV in the middle of chapters and it was a bit confusing.

It‘s 1938, and a young woman selling face cream out of a New York City beauty parlor is determined to prove she can have it all. Her name is Estée Lauder, and she‘s about to take the world by storm. Loved this story of Estée Lauder as told by her fictional friend, Gloria. Wonderful story of friendship, love, betrayal, and self-discovery.

Great suspenseful thriller with plenty of twists and surprises. There were a few surprises that I didn‘t see coming, but did figure out the last “shocking twist” which ruined the ending a bit for me. Still a great read!

I read this book in a single trip to the beach. I will say that certain scenes/chapters are pretty graphic and uncomfortable to read. Also, the characters weren‘t very likable in my opinion. I still enjoyed the book and couldn‘t wait to figure out what happened. Still doesn‘t beat Verity though!

Last week, my life turned upside down when my dad died very suddenly. While I‘ve been trying to come to terms with the fact that I will now have to adjust to life without having my dad by my side, and that he won‘t be here for my 30th birthday, this has been undoubtedly the hardest thing I‘ve ever had to go through. Trying to find books to help me understand the grieving process, and how to cope🤍🕊️

Read this as part of a book club, otherwise I probably would have bailed. I started off loving this, but then all of the body shaming/body issues & jokes about SA and violence was just too much for me. It felt uncomfortable to read the character making light of so many dark issues.

I understand I‘m in the minority here, but wasn‘t really a fan. Maybe it‘s because I‘ve been reading more fast-paced thrillers lately. I really tried to love this book, but was disappointed in the slow pace. The majority of the story felt like filler. You could really just read the very beginning + the end and still completely understand what happened in the story.

Interesting read about Pan Am during the Mad Men era. I think the description was a little misleading, as the recounting of the former stewardesses was a smaller portion of this book than I anticipated. There was a lot of historical events mentioned as well as the history of Pan Am itself. Maybe I wasn‘t in the right mood to read this right now. Maybe I‘ll give it a re-read later this year to see if I feel the same way.

Between a pick and a so-so for me, I decided to give it a pick since I read it in less than 24 hours to try and figure out who the guilty one was! I will say there are plenty of twists, but none of the characters were truly likable and it was a far-fetched, unrealistic story. Still very entertaining and perfect read for October
