A Princess for Christmas
A Princess for Christmas | Jenny Holiday
14 posts | 14 read | 6 to read
From USA Today bestselling author Jenny Holiday comes a modern fairy tale just in time for Christmas about a tough New Yorker from the other side of the tracks who falls for a princess from the other side of the world. Leo Ricci's already handling all he can, between taking care of his little sister Gabby, driving a cab, and being the super of his apartment building in the Bronx. But when Gabby spots a "princess" in a gown outside of the UN trying to hail a cab, she begs her brother to stop and help. Before he knows it, he's got a real-life damsel in distress in the backseat of his car. Princess Marie of Eldovia shouldn't be hailing a cab, or even be out and about. But after her mother's death, her father has plunged into a devastating depression and the fate of her small Alpine country has fallen on Marie's shoulders. She's taken aback by the gruff but devastatingly handsome driver who shows her more kindness than she's seen in a long time. When Marie asks Leo to be her driver for the rest of her trip, he agrees, thinking he'll squire a rich miss around for a while and make more money than he has in months. He doesn't expect to like and start longing for the unpredictable Marie. And when he and Gabby end up in Eldovia for Christmas, he discovers the princess who is all wrong for him is also the woman who is his perfect match.

A cute, hallmark-esque book with some steamy love scenes and funny moments. I don‘t mind a bit of a cheesy/predictable story (especially for a holiday-themed romance), but I have a hard time sticking with a book that has cheesy dialogue between the characters - which is why this book is a so-so pick for me. Also, the book haphazardly switches POV in the middle of chapters and it was a bit confusing.

Essentially a Hallmark movie in book form (which the characters themselves acknowledge frequently), but with some steamier bits thrown in for good measure. I always think I‘m going to enjoy fluffy, seasonal reads more than I actually do? But it was nice reading this (and dozing off intermittently) while sharing blankets with my doggos as a literal blizzard raged outside.

I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as book 2. Leo just didn‘t have a personality . . . he was dull and flat. Book 2 is much better because Max is over the top.

Book 32 for #winterreadathon
#holidayromanacebingo - I already used royalty but that would be a good fit

CoffeeNBooks Yes! I loved Duke, Actually. This one, not so much. 2y

While this book resembles the format of your typical Hallmark movie, the delicious twists and turns of the story, the heated exchanges, and the down right laugh out loud moments is what makes it a must read.

A just fine Christmas Rom-com. This one does actually have some steam, which was delightful. Nothing new, but entertaining and the audiobook is well done. 3.5⭐️

A soft pick here, although that may be more me than the book. When I pick up a book that looks/sounds like a fluffy Christmas read, I'm not mentally prepared to be bombarded with "fucks" every other page. I liked the story and characters just fine, I just felt like the author was trying too hard to make Leo the "poor uneducated Bronx guy" with all the swearing. I get it, he's tough. A fine read, but not one that makes me want to pick up the ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) sequel, especially since this one also checked off “all our problems can be solved with a kiss“ square on my family's Christmas book/movie bingo board 😂 A lot of issues were resolved very quickly and neatly in the last chapter!! 3y

Everything about this book is my catnip. A princess of a made-up Hallmark country falls in love with a salty New York cabbie! A Christmas ball! Banter! God bless. #romcom #christmasromance

A grown up Hallmark like Christmas romance that I can get behind 100%! This is what I've been looking for in Hallmark movies but could never find: realism. Marie and Leo are not cookie cutter characters and their problems are not trivial. Also, I was a bit unprepared for the rated R scenes between the hero and heroine but hey, it worked for me as I love romance scenes no matter the spice level. lol What a wonderful Christmas romance!❤️🎄❤️

It‘s just like a sexy Hallmark movie. A regular guy and a real princess cross paths in NYC at Christmastime. I loved it!!
