Last week, my life turned upside down when my dad died very suddenly. While I‘ve been trying to come to terms with the fact that I will now have to adjust to life without having my dad by my side, and that he won‘t be here for my 30th birthday, this has been undoubtedly the hardest thing I‘ve ever had to go through. Trying to find books to help me understand the grieving process, and how to cope🤍🕊️
I lost my 30 year old sister in January 2022. My most loved human. A full decade younger than me.
Finding this book which is solely focused on out of order deaths has helped. It hasn't made things easier, my grief is still the heavy immovable object it was before, but I feel seen, understood.
Megan spoke my language and I know I will reread chapters again over the course of my life. Grief is love and love lasts forever.
It's OK that I'm not OK.
Think this Book could be a real help to people in their grief. Knowing that all feelings are ok and there is no time limit to the grief. For professionals working in bereavement would definitely add this to your reading library 📚

Great advise on grief.
If we want to care for one another better, we have to rehumanize grief. We have to talk about it. We have to understand it as a natural, normal process, rather than something to be shunned, rushed, or maligned. We have to start talking about the real skills needed to face the reality of living a life entirely changed by loss.
Very good companion for those experiencing grief
#wintergames #thefilthyanimals #24B42020 These weren‘t exactly fun reads but they have been on my TBR since my Mum passed away. The tagged book was the one that made the biggest difference in processing grief and offers information about an on-line support/writing group. I‘m trying to start 2020 with a better approach to my grief.

1) I despise self help books as a general rule, but I tried this after my sister passed. Yeah, no. Can't do it.
2) Who's Line Is It Anyway
3) Today, cereal with no milk
4) Central (CDT until Nov, then CST because we like to mess with everyone's sleep schedule)
5) Black Night
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1) None off the top of my head 😕
2)yeah (grudgingly though)
3) Tagged, meh... not really, but that's on me not the book
4) Almost a full year when I was going for my bachelor's (I was working 2 jobs and had over a full load between two colleges) I barely had time to sleep!!
