Just picked up two new books from my TBR list to read on my downtime from work due to surgery. Cannot wait to get into them 😍 I guess I‘ve been on quite the non-fiction/auto/biography kick lately because my last few books have all been those genres! Anyways, I know what this girl is doing all weekend 😍😍😍

Changing it up a little with this pick!! Was wanting another quick, light read, and I‘m a sucker for a good non-fiction, slightly action packed, history novel 🤗 all the reviews on litsy‘s book profile for the book were pretty good, so I‘m anxious to get this book and my 3 day weekend started 🤩🚀🌒💫

I‘m not really sure how I felt about this book 🤔 I‘m not sure if it was the way it was written, or the story itself, but I kept waiting for the moment that it would just..grab me, I suppose, and it never did. It was really slow getting started, but I kept going hoping that it would pick up, but it just continued to flatline.. BUT it was a beautiful story in itself; the characters, the references, quotes, and overall “point” of the story was ⬇️

Albeit a long quote, it is powerful. This entire book as been full of phrases, paragraphs, and conversations that have just grabbed ahold of me and haven‘t let go! I began this book thinking it‘d be a quick, light read but so far has been quite a lot more! I am anxious to finish it! I hope you all enjoy this”quote” as much as I did 🤔😊

Aaahhhh!! Only on chapter 3 and this book is already SO intense!! It‘s so full of action, yet so much love and passion. Spending my Sunday just how it should be - curled up on the recliner with a book in one hand, coffee in the other, and not a thing on my mind other than what I‘m reading 🙌🏼❤️ #sundayspentright 📚☕️

Well, after 2-3 days I finally finished “Junky”! I have to say, I was a little disappointed. I had such high hopes for this book! I will say, the story itself was good but was pretty slow at times. And I did not care for the ending.. it was almost like it finished right in the middle of the story. I found myself searching the last pages that contained the Appendix‘s for an Epilogue! All in all I‘d give it 2.5 out of 5 stars!

Finally got the second book in “The Cartel” series!! CANNOT wait to start reading it!! Also picked up “The Force” by Winslow as well, recommended by @wintercherry thank you for the recommendation, it sounds like such a good read!! ❤️

Just finished “The Power of the Dog” and I LOVED it!! Absolutely 5 stars! Winslow was so creative and powerful with his writing and choice of words, I truly felt like I was reading actual history about the drug wars in the ‘80‘s and ‘90‘s! Picking up his sequel “The Cartel” tomorrow!! I would no doubt read this book again in the future! If you‘re interested in history, crime, corruption in politics, and drug wars, it‘s a must read!! 👏🏼😍

Has anyone else been SOOO angry at a character in your book for something they did?! Because right now, Mr. Fabian has me so dang angry, that I am ready to put my book down for the night 😂🤬 I love a good book that can create such intense feelings while reading!
