#WednesdayWanderings @AllDebooks @jenniferw88 @TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit

1. My favorite literary walks (hikes) are the tagged book as well as Wild by Cheryl Strayed
2. The terrain is vastly different looking but the feelings of solitude and loneliness seem similar. I feel inspired by the discipline and focus it takes to accomplish individual physical and mental challenges. #litsolace #midsummersolace

AllDebooks I really enjoyed both those books 5mo

#wednesdaywanderings on Thursday. After watching all of the seasons of All Creatures Great and Small, I‘d like to walk the Scottish Highlands. So lush and rich. Orrrr a walk to camp one in the Himalayas would be amazing. #MidSummerSolace #LitSolace

TheBookHippie Oh, I would love to see Scotland!! 5mo
AllDebooks Scotland is beautiful. The Cairngorm national park is utterly magical ✨️ 5mo

Time for another #WednesdayWanderings
💚🥾🗺🥾💚

Do you have any famous walks you'd like to attempt on your bucket list?
🥾 What appeals to you?
🥾 Solitary or group walk?
🥾 Who would you go with?
🥾 What would be the perfect time of year to try it?

@TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit @jenniferw88

AllDebooks Oops, I completely forgot to say mine. Man-made would be Hadrian's wall or the Great Wall of China. I'm obsessed with the Appalachians, after reading so many of Kingsolver's descriptions. Also, the Grand Canyon must be one of the most incredible sights on earth. 5mo

#wednesdaywanderings Very Late!!my most ambitious walk - my best pal and I did the Syttende Mai walk two years in a row. May 17 is my birthday and a nearby town‘s fest to acknowledge the Norway Independence Day. The walk was 17 miles and there was one slice of orange at the single sag wagon. We were armed with snacks the 2nd year. Fool us once… lol - it was a slog and a blast! #LitSolace #MidSummerSolace

TheBookHippie 😝😅🫣🤣 sounds like fun ! 5mo
peaKnit @TheBookHippie it really was, eventually we laughed about the single orange slice but we were unhappy that day haha! So much fun. (edited) 5mo
AllDebooks Thank you for sharing. X Sounds like a great day was had. 💚🍊😅 5mo

1. Most ambitious walk I‘ve done: 10+ mile hike in southern Indiana carrying a 50+lb pack. Ambitious dream: I want to hike the Appalachian Trail.
2. Rural
3. I like trails with lots of water, deep ravines/cliffs, etc. If I don‘t get wet, I‘m bummed. 🤣
4. I always feel exhausted but accomplished. One of my best friends is the only one crazy and fit enough to do the big long hikes with me. ⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm No pics of her, so I threw in ones of my family and I in a different state park. But the terrain is about the same. 5mo

A day late, but here is my #WednesdayWanderings post!! My husband and I love to hike and most of our vacations center around doing so, although we are day hikers, not backpackers haha We visited the Lake Placid region back in 2016 and climbed Algonquin Peak. It's not a terribly long hike, but these are photos of the TRAIL - so much of it was just scrambling up rocks! Which meant coming down was just as hard as going up. I would like to say that ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) we got a payoff in a beautiful views, but actually the fog closed in the higher we climbed, so our view was not great 😂 It really became more of a stubbornness thing - we were SO determined to conquer this one!! Every once in a while you take a hike that actually changes you as a person, and this was one of those for us haha

TheAromaofBooks PS Have to say the best part is there was a peak ranger at the top hanging out to make sure people were in trouble and said he climbs the mountain every day that he's on duty, so usually 4-5 times a week. He must have legs of IRON!!! 😂 5mo
AllDebooks Love this. ❤️ Wow, that ranger myst be at peak fitness!! 5mo

I love walking and hiking. I try to walk a mile or 2 every day. Two years ago, my brother Douglas and niece Kellyn and I hiked the Alum Trail in Gatlinburg Tennessee. It was about six miles up the mountain. My knees aren't that great, plus the altitude made it difficult to breathe at times, but the views were well worth it.

🧭 When I was 12, I joined a group hiking the trails along Skyline Drive; we kayaked back home
🌄🌇 Rural! I need trees and mountains ⛰️
🗺 absolute peace, stunning views, and waterfalls
😊I remember feeling so grateful— my mom and I were together a lot after my parents divorced and I was relieved, as if I could finally breathe

AllDebooks Wow, what a view. Being in nature is so restorative for mind, body, and soul. What a wonderful way for you and your mum to enjoy each others company x 5mo
IndoorDame 💚💚💚you can see forever! 5mo
