I really LOVE this feature of Apple Books that came with the new iOS and iPadOS updates.
#applebooks #ibooks #ios #ipados #readinggoals

LibrarianRyan I need to update my iPad and check it out. 5y
TheBookHippie Guess I should look 🤣🤣🤣 5y
Texreader Nice! Time to upgrade!!! 5y

Texreader So I use Kindle and Audible. I guess it wouldn‘t track those... 5y
GingerAntics @Texreader no, it only tracks within Apple Books. Kindle would have to track kindle. It would probably also track Audible since they‘re both owned by the same company. 5y
GingerAntics @Texreader amazon and I do not usually get a long. I only use the kindle app for library books and the few books I have for kindle and can‘t get for Apple Books (at least until we figure out how to get around their new BS so I can convert all my kindle books to Apple Books. 5y

Pickpick

Apparently one of my favorite reads from last year is on sale on amazon‘s kindle and iBooks today for $2.99! Check it out! You won‘t regret it! Very creepy and suspenseful Scandi-Noir! 😱⛈
I‘ll posh my review in the comments! #scandi #noir #kindle #ibooks #digitalbooks #mystery #thriller #crime #creepy #Scandinavian #norway

BookBumming Five star read! Scandi Noir novel, The Boy At The Door by Alex Dahl.
I think being a parent made this book a little more horrifying than I may have found it if I didn‘t have a child. The main narrator (the story is told from 3 different perspectives) is extremely unlikeable and painfully unreliable..which only adds to the suspense and thrill of it all!!
6y
BookBumming Alex Dahl being born in Oslo, the capital of Norway, has surely given her a knack for painting a stunning Scandinavian backdrop. After finishing the novel I feel like Alex Dahl truly took me to the places that her characters went whether I wanted to be there or not.

This one‘s on sale for $1.99 for fans of apocalyptic and post apocalyptic fiction. It sounds interesting anyway.

I prefer print but like to have #Ebooks on my phone so I can read whenever I want. I used to use only #iBooks but I now borrow lots of library e-books so I use #Overdrive & #CloudLibrary more. #Hoopla‘s good for graphic novels but I‘ve had problems saving my progress in novels. I just got #Libby & so far I like it but need to get used to it. I‘m happy to see that unlike Overdrive, I can search the text, which is handy when looking for quotes!

Demeter2112 Libby is my favorite, but I love Overdrive for audiobooks. Both are great! ☺️ 6y
Seekingtardis #hoopla is my jam!!! 6y
KathyWheeler My library doesn‘t have Overdrive. We have Cloud Library, Hoopla, and R Digital. I use them all but like them for different things — Hoopla for graphic novels and audiobooks, Cloud Library for ebooks, and RDigital for audiobooks. 6y

rretzler Libby‘s interface is more fun that Overdrive but it unfortunately doesn‘t sync wishlists between the app and the computer like Overdrive so i stick with Overdrive for borrowing. Haven‘t heard of Cloud Library or R Digital and I only use Hoopla occasionally 6y
ReadingOver50 My library uses overdrive but I wish they had hoopla instead 6y
LibrarianRyan I miss my cloud library. The new library only has Hoopla Libby and Axis 360. 6y
KathyWheeler @LibrarianRyan Axis360 is one I don‘t see mentioned much. I went to a presentation once where they were talking about moving into academic libraries, but that‘s been awhile. 6y
LibrarianRyan @KathyWheeler I sat on a committee to chose a platform for one ebook service for the state of Illinois. Only two companies would consider taking on such large project. Acid 360 and Cloud Library. In the end we ended up with 2 services depending on which library system you belonged too. Cloud Library couldn‘t handle the multiple ILS s of RAILS and IHLS flat out didn‘t like Axis 360 for price and easy of use. We chose Cloud and I miss it. 6y
RealBooks4ever I like Libby for audiobooks. I keep forgetting about Hoopla for graphic novels! 🙄 6y
CouronneDhiver Overdrive and Kobo are my favourites 6y
vkois88 I love Libby, but I've never heard of Cloud Library 6y
DHill I use Libby for audiobooks and really like it. 6y
Lcsmcat I use Libby - both my libraries use it and I prefer it to Overdrive. I mostly use it for audiobooks, but also eBooks. I‘ve not heard of Cloud Library. What does it do? 6y
Gezemice I use all, but I read on my kindle. I use Audible, Libby and Overdrive to listen. I also have Scribd, for listening. The problem with Hoopla is that I can borrow only 5 a month. Their selection is not very good, except for classics on audio (excellent), and graphic novels, but how do I start reading a graphic novel series with only 5 per month? I want to read them through! 6y
Gezemice @ReadingOver50 My Library has Overdrive/Libby (same account), and the selection is great. Hoopla only lets me borrow five a month and is very limited in selection. The only issue I have with Overdrive is that the waiting lists are long. 6y
BibliOphelia Libby quickly became my favorite - great for audio or ebook, good selection, reasonable waits, best interface. 6y
Redwritinghood I use Hoopla and Libby. I like Hoopla because you don‘t have to wait. 6y
ReadingOver50 @Gezemice I really just want hoopla for the graphic novel selection 😄 6y
TK-421 @Demeter2112 Good to know! I haven‘t really given audio a good try yet but I want to. 6y
TK-421 @Lcsmcat @vkois88 Cloud Library is a bit similar to Overdrive (e-books & audio) but imo has better options for text size, margins, etc. and there‘s lots of genres to browse. I‘m still learning Libby but so far I like it. (edited) 6y
TK-421 @rretzler I don‘t use Hoopla much either - usually I only go to it for graphic novels & comics or if it has a novel available that‘s not in Overdrive or Cloud Library. I think my library used to have R Digital but I never tried it. 6y
Lcsmcat @TK-421 Is it through your public library, or is it a subscription service? 6y
TK-421 @KathyWheeler really need to try audio again! Do you prefer Hoopla to Cloud Library for audiobooks? I was just wondering if one works better than the other. 6y
TK-421 @Lcsmcat I use it through my library 6y
KathyWheeler @TK-421 I use both for audiobooks— I like Hoopla‘s better though. 6y
vkois88 That's good to know, thank you!!! I'll look into it 😊 6y

Honestly, Apple?
I was about 75%-80% through this books with a bunch of highlights and notes.
Now it wants me to “mark as finished” and all my highlights and notes are gone.
Every single other book is just fine, just as I left it.
I was reading this as research for NaNoWriMo. I guess I have to start again.
I can‘t seem to win, here.

Free on iBooks right now!

(There are two editions available, only one of them is free to download at the moment.)

IheartYA Say what? Damn you android. Lol 6y
Elisa @IheartYA where are you located? Apparently it was free also on Amazon UK, Italy and Germany. 6y
IheartYA USA. My daughter checked with her iPhone 6 hours ago but it wasn't free. If it was I was going to make her download and read it. 😂 6y

Elisa @IheartYA haha 😄 6y
Elisa You know what, it‘s on Scribd! As e-book. If you want to check it out, I have a link for a free trial! I started it last month and I LOVE it, it has a much better selection than Kindle Unlimited and it‘s cheaper than Audible. https://www.scribd.com/gie/6ly8ef

IheartYA Ooooo...thank you! 6y
Elisa @IheartYA no problem! I hope you enjoy it! Tag me if you find something interesting on it? I was really excited to find lots of books from my wishlist on it, either as audiobooks or e-books! I also tried the download option for a time when I was offline and it worked great, also with audiobooks. I‘m planning to use that to motivate me to go walking in the morning 😅 6y
