Winnie the Pooh | A.A. Milne

Pickpick

For June‘s #BookishMonopoly, I landed on “Literary Classic” and couldn‘t decide which one of these to choose. Several of you recommended one or the other, so I decided to read both! Winnie is a true classic treasure that I adored. 🥰 And Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, though a bit slow, still gave me the heebie-jeebies.😬
@AkashaVampie

PurpleyPumpkin Both are great classics in ENTIRELY different ways!😅 5d
MemoirsForMe @PurpleyPumpkin I went from warm and fuzzy to creepy town! 🤣 But I‘m glad to finally check these off my list. Hope you‘re having a great summer so far! It‘s finally warming up here. 5d
PurpleyPumpkin I bet! These are total opposites and both are very good. It was super hot here at the beginning of this week. But now we‘re back to cooler temps. I‘m just hoping those 3 days weren‘t our entire summer!😅 Glad it‘s warming up in your area.☀️ 5d

MemoirsForMe @PurpleyPumpkin Glad your heat wave is over. Hope you get a little summer weather. We‘re now in June gloom, but the sun is peeking out more each day. I‘m still behind on my letters and slowly catching up. 🤷🏻‍♀️📝 (edited) 5d
AkashaVampie Yay... I still need to listen to Jekyll & Hyde 5d
MemoirsForMe @AkashaVampie It was still a spooky read, even after seeing so many movie adaptations. 4d

I can see why Winnie the Pooh is a childhood favorite. His real name is Edward Bear. That's a thing I learned while reading these stories!

Pogue I love Eeyore. He is so funny. 5mo

Listened to this one for my #BookSpin - old fav pic. Gotta say, my daddy did way better voices 😓🖤

@TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 7mo
ImperfectCJ Your dad must have been awesome at voices! I love Peter Dennis's interpretations of the characters, especially Piglet. My kids listened to his narrations repeatedly for several years, and they're ingrained in my mind. 7mo

“When he thought about Winnie in the voyage across the ocean, his head said, ‘I shouldn‘t.‘ His head said ‘I can‘t.‘ But his heart made up his mind.”

The story could be used in a lesson to help introduce a harder concept, such as war. It could also be interesting to relate the book back to Pooh bear.

Pretty wordy but interesting because it is a true story and possibly relates to Pooh bear.

DogMomIrene Bahwhahahaha! My husband and I were grocery shopping last week, and he said he was going to wait to buy candy so he wouldn‘t be tempted to open it early. I volunteered to hide it so we could check it off our to do list. I did a good job because he hasn‘t found it, but I keep thinking about it😂 8mo
