An American Marriage | Tayari Jones
post image
Pickpick

Beautiful smile and armed with a book and @starbucks coffee, fellow NYC commuters @alexamthompson She's reading 'An American Marriage' by @tayari I've heard raving reviews and Alexa shared that it was in Obama's book recommendation (2018). I can't wait to check out this book. Have you read this book? What are your thoughts? #spotareader #bookswap #nyclife #mta #subway #wednesdaywisdom #read #booklove #smiles😊 #booksquad

Geeklet I liked it well enough. It was an interesting and relevant tale. Issues with incarceration definitely impact many American families. 6y
SW-T It was interesting to see how the couple struggled to keep their marriage going in the face of incarceration. 6y

Day4 of #augustofpages My favourite #booksquad are Reginald Hill's Yorkshire detectives. The straight talking Dalziel, the new breed of policeman Pascoe and, my favourite, the dry humoured Wield. "Dalziel's supporters claimed his rudeness was calculated; others, impressed by his record, were willing to concede it might be intuitive; Pascoe asserted it was merely digestive." #bookphotochallenge

brendanmleonard Love the colors of these - I need to read this series! 8y

BookishTrish @wanderlustywriter No, I haven't. Who wrote it? 8y
wanderlustywriter @BookishTrish Tana French. She's brilliant. If you do read it, I recommend reading her first book In The Woods first, as it features some of the same characters 8y
BookishTrish @wanderlustywriter Thanks! Added to the TBR 8y

Chief Inspector Gamache and Jean-Guy Beauvoir are my favourite squad. Watch out criminals this duo will soon find you with a little help from the eccentric inhabitants of Three Pines #booksquad

[DELETED] 2232195534 I love Jean-Guy. He's so very human and a perfect contrast to Gamache. 8y
Dragon Thanks @kaysreadinglife it took me a couple books to warm up to him, but I totally agree with you now 8y
Bookzombie I love this series and the characters! 8y

for my #booksquad books I'm going in a different direction :) I've been more into history and nonfiction lately and these are all recommended, especially The Right Stuff (the movie is awesome too). #augustphotochallenge @thespinecrackersbookclub

#bookphotochallenge So this might be cheating but my #booksquad is all the bloggers who link up with me and my co-host every month for our books linkup. What a fucking army of readers we have. And the book selection is one that I fell in love with, obsessively raved about, and as a result, roughly 10 others have read & also fallen in love with. That's my kind of squad. (If I had to pick a true book squad, it's The Babysitters Club. No question).

Jellybeanbon I love this idea. 8y

Head on over to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeE8CGd8_WID8FpJ3-g760SEf_w9Px2ss2laFRA... and fill out the form. We'll post the live updating results link in a few days

stay tuned! 2 more announcements coming and they just get more and more exciting!
