I think this book suffered from the hype around it because I went in expecting something amazing and found something mediocre

This isn't a bad book. Its not my kind of book, I found it stylistically challenging and the emo philosophizing was irritating.

I didn't connect with it in the way that I wanted to. I may return to it when I don't have covid as I may have more patience for it, I don't know. I'm disappointed

Catching up from yesterday. The only two titles with “smiles” from my shelves. I believe (it‘s been a while) that I liked the tagged book, a thriller, and I loved The Girl Who Smiled Beads, a memoir. (The audio book was excellent!)
