Elbow Grease | John Cena

4 ⭐This book is fantastic. It sounds like John Cena if I‘m beginning to end. It‘s a story about always trying your hardest and that it‘s OK to be different. I love that one of the monster trucks is electric, which is what makes them different from the others but yeah, there‘s still this message of family. This book feels like the author and like someone who spends a lot of time with children.

5feet.of.fury Omggg I‘m gonna have to get these for my son, we love wrestling in this household. 4d

This #PictureBook has a great message—never give up and anyone can succeed, no matter size or strength. Cena adds humor to the speech bubbles of the various trucks. I was actually surprised by how much I liked this one. #BBRC #LetterE

BethM Our library only has one of these in the middle of the series :- 9mo
Librarybelle @BethM I didn‘t realize it was a series! 9mo
LibrarianRyan I liked these books. I could see John Cena reading them to kids. These are so much better then Dale Earnhart Jr.s books. 8mo

A little choppy and disorganized at first, but the author found her stride and since it was my day off I was able to finish it in one sitting. Some things were totally unbelievable but I enjoyed it and am interested in reading the next one.

This story has a fun premise of kids with supernatural powers going on an adventure to find missing parents in a world where they have to hide their abilities. However, it‘s also very much a setup for a series. There is a lot of build up and and quite a bit of kid drama in order to get to a big event in just the last few chapters. The results of that event set up plenty more questions for the next book in the series.

Having an after school snack and wishing I could just keep reading more of this book instead of prepping for the rest of the week.

1. I have read books by celebrities so why not read what they recommend. Of course it depends on the celebrity. Here's something I love https://youtu.be/vfGhXTpcaRw
2. My students, their parents, my friends and family, goodreads, litsy - I follow authors on Instagram and Twitter. My Facebook feed is also full of bookish interests.
I have completely lost track of what day it is #teacherlife #summerbreak

TheSpineView Thanks for playing! 👍📖📚 4y
ShelleyBooksie Loved the link. John Cena is great. 4y
mandarchy @ShelleyBooksie He's so great. I wish the Tonight Show did more What Ya Readin'? segments. I'm the odd duck that likes to see celebrities talk about what they are reading. There are so many people who don't read who might start with some inspiration. 4y

bthegood love your comment about losing track of what day it is - summer throws me for a loop - definitely a #teacherlife - 😂 (edited) 4y
KrisNelson I tend to shy away from celebrity children‘s books, but if the kids love them, I‘ll get them. 4y
KrisNelson I buy a lot of my books that Accelerated Reader, that puts its new tests out everyThursday. 4y
mandarchy @KrisNelson I guess I've could argue that Accelerated Reader is a celebrity... 4y

My teenage daughter has been trying to convince me to read this for ages. I finally picked it up recently and I couldn't put it down.

A girl with an unnamed identity, referred to as Jane Doe is in a secret base and who hasn't spoken a word for 2 and a half years.

I found this story had great pacing and enough intrigue for me to not want to put this book down. ⬇️

LazyOwl Part of the reason I enjoyed, was that I went into the story blind not knowing anything about the story. So I won't say much further except to say that it was simply but well written with an interesting female protagonist with a secret past. 4y
