I really liked this story of three Sisters, who were named for Shakespeare characters, and grew up quoting Shakespeare, as their dad is a professor of Shakespeare. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep reading it, since their mom is fighting breast cancer, but her cancer journey was so eloquently written about and the experiences were described so correctly, that it felt like a hug of acknowledgement and support throughout the story.

When former actress Cryptessa is killed with the stake of the "Do Not Tresspass" sign from her yard through her heart, one of her neighbors is a suspect. But, all of them had recent arguments with Cryptessa, so it could have been any of them.

I enjoyed the writing of this. It was a standard human trapped on an alien planet romance. I liked the world building and all the characters felt different.

I'll carry on with the rest of the series as I'd like to see what happens to the other characters.

Mpreg is not my thing. It was not really a big part of the book, it happens at the end and is speedrunned through which worked for me!

⬇️

PuddleJumper I do think every writer that mentions penis size should watch that TikTok with the woman telling people they don't really know what 12 inches looks like because a dick that measures from hip to collar bones of an average human is not going where the author wants it too.

OutsmartYourShelf @PuddleJumper 😆 I saw that TikTok too. 3mo

This is a romance book with serial killer trappings. That aspect is treated like a quirky part of their personality rather than a driving force in the book.

When it is featured it's gory for the sake of being gory and disturbing. I would have preferred to focus on how they found them, verified they were killers etc Rather than the violence but that's a personal preference.

⬇️

PuddleJumper The two MCs' voices were incredibly similar. I had to constantly check whose POV it was.

The romance was not romancing. I wasn't interested in them as a couple. You need more to a relationship than banter. It just felt like they bantered and thought about how hot the other one was.

It was a very shallow read. I think if you like dark romance then try this series otherwise I'd avoid.

3mo
Catsandbooks I was thinking about trying this one since it's so popular everywhere, but I think I'll pass 3mo
PuddleJumper @Catsandbooks It's a romance book with gore. I was expecting more on the serial killer/vigilante angle. If you enjoy romance books with darker themes then it isn't a badly written book 3mo

I've had issues with this author before in terms of length. This book is long and it's packed full of unnecessary moments and details. I don't care what the MC has for dinner and their thought process behind it unless it has something to do with the plot.

It is simultaneously fast paced and so incredibly slow. I ended up skim reading the majority of it because so much of it was unnecessary.

PuddleJumper The romance and the smut hits a bunch of different tropes and kinks. I would say this is definitely a dark romance.

Without giving too much away there is a religious element to it and that bleeds over into a d/s type relationship. The religious language and ideas used in that aspect was very off putting for me because it was language usually aimed at women.

PuddleJumper That part of the toxicity between the couple was something I could not get over. Apparently that\'s a hard no for me! You live and learn. 3mo

I buggered my knees this weekend so I indulged in IWTV season 2 and a lot of KU books. I'm playing catch up now with posting.

This was another fun instalment. It is slowly moving towards a throuple which I love and I just want to know what Adam is!

BookishMadHatter These books are great as a quick, fun read or a palate cleanser. I just got the latest one and am debating whether to hold off to read it closer to the next one, or just dive in 3mo
PuddleJumper @BookishMadHatter Oh I know! The last one is coming out in December and I don't know whether to pace myself or not 3mo

This has been my absolute favorite book of this series so far! It was a very Agatha Christiesque whodunit mystery with our favorite characters Georgiana, Darcy, Belinda, and Queenie.

This is a spin off from another series. I haven‘t read it and I didn‘t think I missed much. It‘s a mash up of ghosts, romance, save this failing business, and surprise grandchild.

All of the characters were awkward and adorable. I really hope this develops into a series as there were some interesting ideas and plots that weren‘t fully developed in the book.
