arubabookwoman I love it! In our house of 30+ years that we sold in March, we had a 20+ foot wall of bookshelves (full) in the family room. In our apt I have only about a 3-4 feet wide shelf. The rest of the books (that I kept) are in storage until we move. (edited) 5y

I thought I had a picture of my overflowing bookshelves on my phone. Guess not. So here is a picture of all my TBR for reviews and ARCs. These stacks are on my desk riser and run up the wall. I also have more on my library cart, my night stand, then of course my bookshelves.

Richard Booth's Bookshop | Hay-on-Wye, Herefordshire, United Kingdom (Bookstore)

In 1962, Richard Booth bought the old fire station in Hay on Wye and turned it into a book shop, buying stock from libraries that were closing. Within 6 years, he was generating a turnover of c640,000. In 1988, the father and son Norman & Peter Florence launched a literary festival in the town. The town of 1,500 inhabitants welcomes half a million bibliophiles each June, to see things such as this #WallOfBooks in the castle grounds

TK-421 @flying_monkeys They‘re cheap assemble-at-home shelves made of particle board & laminate, I think. And they aren‘t reinforced, but I have mostly paperbacks & I try to put my heavier books on the bottom shelves or the “fixed” shelves in the middle to try to distribute the weight evenly. So far everything is holding up fine, but they‘ll probably end up bowing at some point. One day I hope to have some awesome built-in shelves! 5y

flying_monkeys @TK-421 yeah the bowing is creeping up on mine, and i didn‘t see any in yours so i thought maybe you had a method 🤓 i keep telling myself to make my own out of a good sturdy wood, but then the books multiply and they need homes so i grab another cheapie. 🙃 5y

Tex2Flo I have one bookcase made this way that I‘ve kept for over 30 years. I work out the bowing by turning that shelf over every year or so...to get the bowing going in the other direction. No perfect, but made that case still useful for another year. 5y

Centennial Books | Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada (Bookstore)

Almost every wall is a #WallofBooks at this shop! I only get to browse Centennial Books about twice a year when I visit Regina. I have to dig around for quite awhile on the double stacked #SFF shelves (bottom right) and towers of books on the floor, just hoping I‘ll find what I‘m looking for but that‘s part of the #bookhunt fun! #AugustABC

Clwojick i hope they have decent prices there ! We have a second hand store like that in my city, but I find the prices are too steep to really enjoy it. 😞 5y
