I guess Trixie Belden is getting republished?!? I wonder if the books are getting updated like the Nancy Drew books were.

I really enjoyed November's Trixie mystery. I know I've said it before, but I love how Trixie isn't perfect. In this story, she's biased against Dan from the start just because of how he looks/what he wears, and that comes back to bite her. Were some things in this book a little too tidy/easy? Absolutely, but that's okay because it's fiction 😂
Did you all get to this one? Any thoughts?
One other thing, I wondered how crazy the mountain lion ⬇
Yay! We're back in Sleepyside, getting lost in the woods repeatedly! But now there's a mountain lion! I love this cover so much, and loved the idea of Trixie judging someone for wearing a black leather jacket. 😂 My biggest critique was that, in my edition, Di Lynch didn't show up until page 80 and she wasn't part of any of the action of the story. Not sure how another BWG is going to fit, if we barely had room for Di! #bobwhitebuddies

Finished Sunday for #BobWhiteBuddies Trixie # 8 revolves around Trixie coming up with an idea to have an ice carnival to help raise money to rebuild her Mexican penpals‘ school library (a concept any reader can get behind). It also introduces a new character & addition to the club, Dan, who has a rocky start with the group & especially Trixie. Small spoiler… I always felt sorry for Dan because he rarely got to go ⬇️

Trixie & I are hanging out for #HyggeHour tonight, along with Sleepytime tea & some peanut butter & jelly M&Ms. (I feel like these are better in theory than in taste but they aren‘t bad, because… chocolate) 😉
Looking forward to a shorter week with the holiday although it will still be a busy one & I need to work Friday morning. 🤷🏻♀️
Playing catch up, since I missed last month's #bobwhitebuddies read. I enjoyed this one, even though the mystery took a backseat. My favorite part was when Trixie went dress shopping with her mom.
A new kid in town means a new mystery for the Bob Whites! In addition to figuring out an ice carnival to raise donations, Trixie needs to find out just what is going on with tough city boy Dan.
A lower stakes mystery for the kids, but just as much heart. Love how the kids all take on an activist role for their friends, & seeing most of them jump to conclusions about Dan, then apologize when they‘re wrong is heartening.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Book 7 in the Trixie Belden series is the first book not written by Julie Campbell. However, I felt like if I hadn't known that, I wouldn't necessarily have guessed it haha There were several things about this one that I liked, and a few things that kind of annoyed me. The entire premise of the school forcing the Bob-Whites to disband felt unrealistic (can the school control what you do at home??) ⬇

Read for #BobWhiteBuddies Book 7 in the series doesn‘t quite live up to my childhood hype of it. I remember it being a favorite because of the code found in the magazine (Saint Nicholas-a real children‘s magazine) & the little spark of Trixie/Jim romance (a corsage & a dance but be still my preteen heart) Unfortunately the racist caricature of the Japanese brothers doesn‘t age very well. It still gets a nostalgic ⬇️

My #HyggeHour tonight is pretty mellow. Starting Trixie for #BobWhiteBuddies & part of my #HauntedShelf TBR while watch/listening to Corpse Bride.
I‘m drinking hot tea with honey & still trying to get over this sinus thing I‘ve got going. Thankfully, no travel this week but a busy one & a midweek ESOP conference on Oahu, so probably early to bed after this. 🤧🥱😵😵💫😴
