Abby has run away from college seeking adventure. Her dad, a paleontologist, has left her out of his own adventures digging up dinosaurs. So when she and private detective learn that dinosaur bones have been found, Abby practically forces Jackaby to investigate. Meanwhile Jackaby has taken on the task of caring for kittens. Sadly, neither the bones nor the kittens are what they appear to be, and neither is the handsome young cop who has caught ⬇️

Texreader Abby‘s eye. The cop Charlie, Jackaby, and Abby set out to catch the monster plaguing the site of the dig. An excellent side story—based on real life—is about the two famous paleontologists who fight over who owns the right to the dig and the bones! And there‘s one more mystery to be solved: who killed the beautiful woman who now resides as a ghost in Jackaby‘s house? #litsyatoz #letterB 4h
Karisa These books are so much fun! I had kind of forgotten about them. Thanks for reminding me 😊 3h

Abby, new in town and clueless about magic and the supernatural, finds work immediately with private detective Jackaby. Jackaby can see things no one else can, and thus can solve mysteries involving the bizarre and wondrous. Abby moves into his guestroom and befriends the house‘s previous owner, now a ghost. Abby and Jackaby, with the help of a young cop who is more than he appears, help to solve murders that are preceded by the noise of ⬇️

Texreader incessant crying. When Abby and Jackaby hear the noise, they fear they are the next victims. Of course, all is not as it seems in this otherworldly book. Jackaby employs unusual methods to try to discover the culprit much to the annoyance of a police chief who doesn‘t believe in Jackaby‘s nonsense. This is a great book but I wish the narrator gave Jackaby more nuance. She uses precise, unwavering pronunciation that can be uncomfortable. 4h

Definitely a #blameitonlitsy purchase, but one that‘s useful/appropriate for our times. Maybe Montaigne is the way to help us find our way back to each other. #litsyatoz #letterM

Tamra Oh, this is a good reminder to take my Montaigne off the shelf! I really enjoyed his essays and have meant to get back to them. The complete collection is perfect for dipping in & out. 6h

EXTRA!! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

What a fascinating family. From unethical actions such as paying off voters to support Lincoln's nomination (could you imagine if someone else had become the Republican nominee in 1860?) to influencing international leaders and styles. THE SCANDALS!! The Medills gave Jacie O her first job in journalism. I had never heard of these people, but I am so glad I read about them. They're the ones to thank for the "funnies."

Graceland: A Novel | Nancy Crochiere

Olivia, an elderly former soap star, asks her daughter Rachel, to drive her to Memphis to see Graceland one more time. Rachel refuses because she‘s vowed to never to return to Memphis after leaving when she was 18. Olivia then ropes her 16
y/o granddaughter, Dylan, into the trip, promising to uncover the truth behind a lie Rachel has been telling Dylan her whole life. This was good, fun family dysfunction!

Lauranahe As someone who grew up in Memphis, I get not wanting to go back! But mostly that‘s to move back; I still visit my family every summer. I‘m intrigued now though! Is there a lot of Memphis info/facts/places in this? 1d

OriginalCyn620 @Lauranahe There‘s some Memphis info, probably not a lot. Other than some stuff about Graceland, there‘s also some about Beale Street, and that‘s about it. 20h
