I occasionally try poetry even though I often don‘t really get it, and I kind of wonder why. Well, now I know. Because when you find something that really works, it makes it all so worth it. Kenyon uses simple language and writes about everyday small town/rural life in a time before our intrusive technology age. I loved this.
Day 2 of #poetrymatters and a other Jane Kenyon poem. 🤷 Good poem about losing a pet.

#ItHadToBeYou #LovePoem #Otherwise #JaneKenyon
This poem is particularly poignant because Jane Kenyon was living with leukemia at the time she wrote it. She died at the age of 47. Her husband was poet Donald Hall. It seems to be a #LovePoem to life, love, herself.
