Brisingr = Brisingr
Brisingr = Brisingr | Christopher Paolini
OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide. Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep. First is Eragon's oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran's beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix's clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength--as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices-- choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice. Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

Finally completed this reread. To be honest, I struggled a lot. It seemed too slow and there was too much dwarf politics for my taste. But I made it. The world-building is meticulous, but I wanted more action. I love the imperfection in the characters though, and it‘s fun to see the author grow book to book. One more reread in this series and then to the new one!

What a joy to do a full reread of this series before I get into the newly released “Murtagh”. Such a childhood favorite and holds up well! #reread #audio

🔥Brisingr, the third installment of the Inheritance Cycle, is an epic adventure! 📚😄 I was thrilled by the political twists that added spice to the story. These books are like finding your long-lost BFF! 🧡 Eragon, Saphira, and the gang are still rock stars in my book. 🌟 If you're a fantasy fan, this series is a MUST! 🐉📖 #FantasyFave

Third instalment in the Inheritance cycle. Long, but it held our interest and continues to build to the inevitable climax between Eragon and Galbatorix.

Holy cow!!!! Paolini delivers another amazing book! The twists in this one rival or better those in Eldest. This book engrossed me and drove me on. Page-turner does it no justice. A fast-paced, hard driving tour-de-force that begs you to stay awake, forgo food, and feast on the story. You really need to read this series. This was my March #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

One of the more complex installments of the Inheritance cycle, Paolini really develops and lays down the foundation for an epic ending.... the story is one so fantastic that I genuinely felt the magic and the emotion

If you like books that are filled to the brim with strong determined heroes and full of suspense, then Brisingr is for you. It‘s the third book in the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini. Brisingr follows the path of the young dragon rider, Eragon, and his dragon, Saphira, as they attempt to overthrow the tyrant king of Alagaesia, Galbatorix. Since my last post, I have finished the second half of the book.

Nicolas Galatonov Orik manages to win the election and become King of the Dwarves. This means the dwarves will now assist Lady Nasuada and the Varden in fighting Galbatorix. Saphira reunites with Eragon in Farthen Dur and they fly all they to Du Weldenvarden, the elf forest. They find their masters, Oromis and Glaedr to discuss how Galbatorix is so powerful. They reveal that Galbatorix has multiple Dragon Hearts (Eldunari) in his possession. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov He draws strength from these Hearts. Oromis also reveals that Eragon‘s father was in fact Brom, not Morzan. Eragon goes to the Menoa tree to find a brightsteel deposit. He then brings it to Rhunön who he helps build a Rider sword for himself. He names it Brisingr. Glaedr gives his Eldunari to Eragon for extra strength and so he can communicate with Glaedr. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov Oromis and Glaedr decide to go help the elves in their battle taking over Gil‘ead because there is no use in them hiding and preserving their life because they‘ve taught Eragon enough for him to teach the next dragon riders. Eragon and Saphira fly all the way to Feinster to help the Varden with their siege. They take over the city and with the help of Arya, defeat a Shade. 4y

Nicolas Galatonov Oromis and Glaedr die in battle when Galbatorix takes control of Murtagh and kills them. Brisingr is written from the 3rd Person Omniscient Point of View. I know this because all the main characters are referred to as “He”, ”She”, “They”. While Eragon and Saphira are the main characters, the story is also told from the perspectives of Roran and Lady Nasuada. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov While the 3rd Person Objective Point of View can also be seen from the perspectives of multiple characters, we know the book is written in the 3rd Person Omniscient Point of View because we are told what the characters are thinking and feeling. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov While Rhunön is using her mind to move Eragon‘s body so she can forge his sword, we can see what Eragon is feeling, “The sensation of helplessness kindled a burst of sudden panic within Eragon,” (Paolini, p.669). We get a view into how Eragon is feeling which makes this 3rd person POV, the omniscient type. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov Now that I‘ve finished this book, I‘ve come to fully appreciate Paolini‘s plot planning and the little seeds he planted at the start of the series that are starting to bloom now such as Brom being Eragon‘s father. I still think the story progressed a bit slowly and I can‘t say it was worth the wait. The siege on Feinster was quick and not too exciting. 4y
Nicolas Galatonov I think that the end of this book is rather set to improve the experience in the next and final book of the series because now Eragon has a sword and the start of a plan to defeat Galbatorix. I 100% recommend this series to everyone and I can‘t wait to see how Eragon avenges his teachers in the final book. 4y
MissYaremcio The next book is fantastic! Totally agree though, this one is probably the slowest in the series! ALSO CAT! 6/6 4y

To know that you were with one who cared for you, and who understood every fiber of your being, and who would not abandon you in even the most desperate of circumstances, that was the most precious relationship a person could have, and both Eragon and Saphira cherished it.

Brisingr is such a good book. It just made me want to keep reading more and learn more about this amazing world that Paolini created. The description of the wars are so good. I do feel sorry for Eragon's brother. He is not exactly evil, but just a nice guy being controlled by the king.

Just finished this reread and I‘m excited to discuss further with @scale-shark .Eragon is no longer a noob, and he‘s makin a ton of difficult-to-deliver promises to prove it! I love him for it. This book finally delivers on all the build up at which ‘Eldest‘ hinted. I also loved that we got some Saphira-narrated chapters. As always, needs more Arya-oriented plot. #bfls
