Uninvited Study Guide
Uninvited Study Guide: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely | Lysa TerKeurst
GOD WANTS US TO LIVE LOVED WHEN WE FEEL LEFT OUT, LONELY, AND LESS THAN. In this six-session video Bible study, Lysa TerKeurst digs deep into Gods Word to help you explore the roots of rejection, the way other relationships get tainted because of a past rejection, and the truth about what it looks like to live loved. With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa will take you on a visual journey in the Holy Land to some of the places where people of the Bible such as Hannah, David, and even Jesus lived and walked. Lysa will help you and your group to enter a place of healing and new perspective, as well as a time for you to go to new places with Jesus and experience him like never before. Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or takena love that does not reject or uninvite. This study guide is packed with deep Bible teaching and includes guided video notes, group discussion questions, and between-sessions personal studies. Session Titles: 1: Living Loved 2: Empty or Full? 3: The Yoke of God Is Freedom 4: Set Apart 5: Remembering Gods Presence 6: Lessons from the Olive 7: Bonus Session: Review and Celebration (No video) Designed to be used with the UNINVITED DVD STUDY 9781400205981

I normally don't read anything that can be considered "self-help" because those kinds of books always seem common sense to me.

I honestly downloaded this because it was a short audiobook.

Turns out something happened this week that left me feeling rejected and blindsided...this book addresses those feelings.

I love when books show up at just the right time ? This felt like divine intervention

Aims42 Love when this happens 🤗❤️ 2d

I liked the heart of this one but wanted it to be a little more about the “feeling left out” of the subtitle than feeling actively rejected. Not a perfect fit for me in this season, but still worth reading. February #bookspin

There were some good reminders and lessons in this book! A bit more cheesy than my taste, but still good reminders.

I related to this book very strongly. As a stay at home mom feeling left out, less valuable, and lonely are all feelings I struggle with. #20in4 3:12:16

Texreader That‘s so tough. I lost some close friends in the last couple of years so I can relate. I can say my kids (freshman in college and high school sophomore) are now excellent company and good friends. Just afraid of the empty nest looming on the horizon now. Lots of hugs to you. 💜 3y
Rissa1 @Texreader my kids are at the awkward ages of 12 and 9. Just the right ages that they don't want me around for everything but still need me for driving and activites, which leaves little time for me to see my friends who live a little over an hour away (not so far that visiting never happens, but far enough that I can't just drop in). I have started becoming more involved with volunteering in my church. 3y
Texreader @Rissa1 That‘s so smart. I‘ll probably do something similar when it‘s empty nest time. Fortunately I feel like I‘m good friends with my team at work. Husband works from home and even though he‘s an extreme introvert I know the days get very long for him. 3y
wordslinger42 I loved this one a lot, too 💜 All of her books are so wonderful! 3y

How are you, my Litten friends? I‘m sorry I‘ve been AWOL for so long. I‘m sending the little bit of love and hope I have to you today in a global, socially distanced hug.

A book about feeling loved by God despite what life throws at you. It especially resonated with me when she talked about the lack of a relationship with her father. A spiritual memoir of sorts.

While I could relate very strongly to feelings of rejection that she discusses, I found most of the book unhelpful, largely in the way of ‘I already knew that...easier said than done.‘ Oh well. I guess I should have known it wasn‘t going to be that easy to resolve this struggle.

#24b42019 @Andrew65 @TheReadingMermaid

Starting out with trying to finish off a few last books. I don‘t think Christian self-help is my genre. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Andrew65 Good luck, don‘t think it‘d be my genre either. 6y
saguarosally @Andrew65 I loved it in my late teens and early twenties. Things are different now. 6y
Mindyrecycles Ditto here. Raised IFB and now no. Just no. 6y
saguarosally @Mindyrecycles I wasn‘t IFB, but I saw a bit of that. It‘s just not something sustainable for me. 6y

I've never related to a quote more than this one. This is exactly how I feel in any networking situation. Definitely an area I need to work on.

4⭐️This was the July book for my Book Club. I love self help books but if they don't apply to me at the time I read it, I have a difficult time reading it. There was much wisdom in this book, and I loved how she spoke about difficult issues. However I had to speed read/ skip a couple chapters just because I am not feeling rejection at this point in my life. Sometime down the road, I am sure I will come back to this book with the wisdom it provides

Had to bail on this one. It was way too Christian based as opposed to a psychology book as I had thought it was. Oh well...good thing I got it for a buck through Amazon!

I've read this book three times this year. This was my first audio experience. The first two times: I read slowly, I highlighted, I reread parts, I absorbed the good stuff. I felt understood. I left a review on Litsy.

With this third audio read, I did not have as intense a reading experience as before. Perhaps this is because the narrator read a little too fast. Or maybe after three times, I almost have the book memorized.

👉🏻 Highly recommend.

This book has so much truth laced into it. Despite the fact that I did not identify with the subtitle I found this book met me right where I am. Better read in community with others! I loved the study guide. It extends & enhances the book itself. It can be done independently, but was more of an experience with the two functioning as a pair. TerKeurst shares vulnerably, dives into Scripture, addresses challenging topics, & challenges us to as well.
