Fun sarcastic read
Like it,BUT not as much as the previous two!
A barista's estranged billionaire father dies, leaving her fortune but also his enemies, including a dudebro with the wealth and technology to build an army of supervillains. Mayhem ensues. It's an over-the-top action thriller with comic-book sensibilities and I found it a lot of fun and frequently funny.
If Zoey Ashe had known she was being stalked by a man who intended to kill her and then slowly eat her bones, she would have worried more about that and less about getting her cat off the roof.

One reviewer called this book a fast- paced, action packed and downright crazy novel!
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.
Day 121
#tbrmountain #bookbuyingdiet
This book is really freaking funny. It's also a bit violent and maybe a little bit gross. I can't wait for the next one.
This opens with Zoey being stalked by a horrible human while she's trying to get her cat (Stench Machine) off the roof of her mom's trailer. Great opener, right?

Day 3
I bought this despite the cover, not because of it.
My Book Outlet order came. So excited to finally be addling these to my collection. I adored John, Dave, & Amy's wacky adventures and Futuristic Violence is a new favorite. I haven't read NOS4A2 yet but owning a physical copy means I am that much closer. Now if only I could get my bookshelves built so I had somewhere to put them.
Book: Futuristic Violence & Fancy Suits
Author: Jeaniene Frost
TV show: Friends

This book was a very good read. At first I was a little iffy about reading it because i absolutely love Wong‘s John and Dave adventures. But it took what I love about those stories and added a healthy dose of Blade Runner. I highly recommend it
Somebody has got their stories mixed up. I will now use this whenever I need to explain LOTR to somebody 🤔😜🤓😂
Once again diving into the crazy world of David Wong. I enjoyed my time with John & Dave so much I decided to see what else this author had to offer. Fingers crossed it is just as much fun as the others I read. Nothing says futuristic violence like the T-800 & I may not own a fancy suit but I have this snazzy tie 🤓😜
Pages and I are jumping on the Funko bandwagon! I love how the app captured my dog's grumpiness. #dogsoflitsy
It appears that my dog is into the German language. We're currently watching Dark on Netflix and she's riveted. Either that, or she can read subtitles..

Started this audiobook this morning (although I did start it last year, I only got a few chapters in) and while it's not quite the John Dies At The End style humor, it's still funny and futuristic and fancy. I was up late last night and needed something to keep me awake and amused on my morning drive.
View from my bed. Three books, a notebook, and the pookie my mom made in the background.
Still in bed, kinda hungry, just scared my cat away by sneezing, not quite emotionally prepared to start Stone Sky. This seems like the obvious choice.
I expected this book to be funny and action-packed. What I was not expecting was a body-positive anti-classist indictment of frat bro rape culture in the form of a science fiction fable.
If you squint this book could be We Should All Be Feminists with more severed hands and exploding cyborgs. (Like way more severed hands. Like a Star Wars trilogy's worth of severed hands.)
Trigger Warning in the comments:
I might just finish this today.
I usually roll my eyes when I see the old "someone was screaming and I realized it was me" chestnut, but this had just the right twist.
Guys, you really shouldn't have tried your big plan to take down the bad guy 55% of the way through the book. That's a guarantee that things are going to go way off the rails. Never try the big showdown until at LEAST 80% if you want things to run smoothly.
Since humans first associated sounds with written symbols, no sentence has been more perfectly crafted. Truly this is the pinnacle of literary achievement. All effort with the written word from this point on is futile. We must meditate on this in order to achieve nirvana.
The cat in my #currentread is named Stench Machine. That is all. #riotgrams
"The people of Tabula Ra$a fell into roughly three camps in response to the terror threat:..."
Sometimes you read something that hits you like nobody has ever been hit before. In the wake of the various terror incidents that have hit my hometown in the past 3 weeks, I have been struck by the spirit of the people in town. They don't give up. It's just an inconvenience to have to deal with.
David Wong nailed human spirit, pass it on.
Bring on the weirdest schtick I'll read this year. I love David Wong.
When the person trying to save you from a killer chooses the wrong time for humor.
The best thing about finishing a book is starting a new one! And I can already tell I'll be posting quotes like crazy. That is how you do a first sentence, folks.
Keeping my June TBR super reasonable due to The Way of Kings (hit the quarter mark yesterday!). I will be incredibly pleased if I can make it through these 3.
I can finish this by Sunday, yeah? #catsandguns
This book is insane in the best way possible! It reminded me a lot of Kill Bill. While I am not going to be book talking this in the high school, I will be pushing it to my mature readers who are ready for a wild story!
Seriously this reads like a Quentin Tarantino film, just a lot of casual murder and a fun mystery and non stop action that yanks you by the arm into the story and never lets go. Laugh out loud funny, utterly absurd, and so much fun to read!
Futuristic Fiction eBook I loved this book. I was laughing and loving the situations. Similar to Atrocity Archives. I have a new author to follow. Great story and awesome cover, how can you not win
Already having fun with this one. http://a.co/dqGt9DX
A non-stop thrill ride through the fantastic universe of Tabula Rasa, from the viewpoint of snarky Zoey Ashe, a young lady yanked from her all too ordinary trailer park life when her gangster father dies, leaving her with everything: riches, power, suited-up staff, and many, many insane enemies.
Very excited to start this! I'm intrigued by the cover and am wondering what role the cat will play.
