#IDLR #InDeathLongReadalong We‘re on to book 11! We will stick to our usual reading schedule and will check in on Feb 9, 16, 23, and finish on March 2. I‘m looking forward to seeing how things are progressing with our characters, especially Peabody and Mcnabb. As always, let me know if you want to be added or removed from the tag list.

This one was very good. I think these are getting better as the series goes. Thanks to my co-host #InDeathLongReadathon @StayCurious #Jumpstart2025 #SeriesLove25 #Read2025 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView #ISpyBingoJan @TheAromaofBooks @DieAReader @Lizpixie

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Sorry for the late post - I missed my cue (haha - get it, because theatre?) Ch.16-end / review — as usual we were led down some dark passages in this one, and it hit close to home for Eve. The victim in this case was deplorable- and Eve ended up feeling for the killer. I thought the twist and reveal was pulled off nicely - Dame Christie would have been proud. ⬇️

StayCurious I liked the sentimental moments between Roarke and Eve, and Eve and Trueheart‘s mother. I think Peabody and Eve grew closer. I think Eve and Nadine grew closer. And I think Peabody and Mcnabb grew very close. Overall, a good addition to the series that helped propel it further. 2w
Librarybelle This was a good one! 1w

LiseWorks I really liked this one. 1w
Read4life I agree that this was very good! 1w
TheAromaofBooks We so often hear more about how Eve feels about her evil dad, so it was interesting to think about mothers, especially Eve's. Such a good job showing Eve's personal growth throughout this series as different cases make her face different aspects of her past. And I'm totally hear for Peabody + McNabb!! 1w

I think this was the best in the series yet—aspects of Agatha Christie-esque mysteries are thrown into this one. Eve, Roarke, and thousands in the audience witness a murder on stage. But, it‘s not as clear cut as it seems. Eve also continues to battle her last, and elements of the investigation do not help. I love to see the characters developing! #InDeathLongReadalong

LiseWorks I agree, I really liked this one 2w

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.11-15: the more we learn about the victim Draco, the more he turns out to have been a really rotten guy. An altercation from 24 years ago is revealed and as Eve digs, she may have found more unsettling information about Draco and his last lover Carly. Secrets never stay buried. And this one is a real killer. Meanwhile, Roarke gives Mcnab dating advice to woo Peabody, and Eve tries to woo Roarke with a romantic dinner

LiseWorks I absolutely loved Eve's attempt to woo Roarke. It was really romantic, and the surprise on Roarke nearly killed her effort. I'm so glad it worked out. 3w
Librarybelle Me too, @LiseWorks ! It was such a charming interlude in the story! 3w
TheAromaofBooks I loved that part of Roarke's advice was to contrast rather than compete with the other guy, i.e. be yourself. McNabb and Peabody are so freaking cute together. 3w

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.6-10: Eve has a very interesting cast of characters to deal with - some of whom hated the deceased. We find out the victim was pretty much an a—hole and a sexual deviant (poor Nadine). He had a tape of her that if it got out would be pretty bad. What was he planning to do with it? Was that why he called her for dinner? Or was it just to discuss old times? ⬇️

StayCurious Then the newest victim, made to look a suicide - good thing Eve‘s not easily fooled. What do we think of Charles and Peabody‘s platonic relationship? I hope Eve stays out of it. But if McNabb finds out, will he be relieved or smug? (edited) 4w
Librarybelle I‘m really enjoying this one! It‘s a fun way to craft a mystery. As for Peabody‘s triangle—I wonder how this is going to go! 4w
TheAromaofBooks Eve palming Nadine off for the makeover made me laugh 😂 4w
