A prose poetry collection. I‘m not a huge poetry read and I never would have known about this if it hadn‘t been for Jen Campbell and her YouTube channel. She‘s been raving about this.

I loved the feminist twist on these poems, and these poems tell of a world where women rule.

This was interesting, not what I expected.

I tried this poetry in prose collection as it was beloved and gifted to me by the lovely @Kalalalatja 💜The concept was very cool, men are objectified and women are the predators. It‘s strange and mystical, at times beautiful & sometimes dark. I wanted to love it but it was just ok for me. It‘s a very current read and I wonder if all of the Angelina Jolie references will date this prose?!??!? Thanks for sharing this one, Katja 😘

I can't recommend these four highly enough, so put them on your wishlist or buy them for yourself, or from your library. Just read them!

#ForReasonsUnknown I have stopped reading a poetry collection a month. Which is bad since it was one of my reading resolutions for 2017, and I really enjoyed doing it! I just haven't picked up any new poetry collections for a while, but I need to get back at it considering how much I enjoyed these four 🤔

I think this was my favourite book of August. Loved it!

This poetry collection is cool as #iceicebaby - not that it lacks emotions but the ideas and creativity behind it are so damned cool and awesome!

Boys and men are judge by the size of their wings, women are the breadwinners (and kinda predator-ish), and it is a beautifully written prose poetry collection. If you haven't picked it up, you should!

This book is so good!
The poems tell a story about an island where women rule and men are second class. Basically men are treated how women are treated in our society. There's also a bit of mythology and fantasy in the stories as well. So good! Read it!

I've barely started but I'm already loving this book!

Finished this one in the car today whilst waiting for my sister!🚗

This was unlike anything I've read before! So intelligent and original! Different stories based on an island where roles and expectations of men and women are pretty much reversed. It makes you think so much and highlights problems with both genders and societal pressures that you wouldn't normally consider. Some bits are funny, some horrifying. Really interesting!📚

I had the best reading night last night! Two 5⭐️ reads in one evening. This prose poetry collection takes everything we know about men and women and turn it upside down. Men are sex objects and judged by the size of their wings, women are in charge and Angelina Jolie is sort of like a God. It reads like a story, and I think that even people who are new to poetry (like me) will like this. All the love from me! ❤

My October reads were a solid mix of awesomeness! There are graphic memoirs, graphic novel, non-fiction, historical fiction, feminist satirical poetry, memoir, and feminist religious criticism - all dealing with topical and complicated issues. I can't wait to see what November brings!

I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and am really enjoying this satirical-matriarchal-prose-poetry collection!

A prose poetry collection where the convention "it's a man's world" is turned on its head. Women are in the work force and all political offices. Men are beautiful objects that are expected to support their wives.
