Mortals, witches, and vampires. What a great story of magic, war, mystery, and monsters. I really enjoyed Scarlett St. Claire story and I am happy book 2 is in my library!

Isolde, forced into an arranged marriage with Vampire King Adrian, feels an undeniable and instinctual bond to him. As she learns more of vampire history, the world as she knows it burns away.
I actually liked this one more than St Clair‘s A Touch of Darkness. The writing needs more editing and I was confused at points, skipping back to reread to see what I missed. Overall, I stayed for the smut and the plot. 3/5! I will be reading the next.
On a mini vacay at Pismo Beach and I‘m enjoying this saucy vampire gothic romance. Isolde who got married off to King Adrian, vampire, to save her land, she‘s such a tough bad ass. Love it! #vampireromance. #endofsummer #beachreads #vampires
Strong 8 out 10. I can see why there were mixed reviews. I am not sure I would have enjoyed waiting on the rest of the story to unfold without being able to immediately have access to the second book. First book background for the real story to unfold is my guess. I recommend a nice cool drink & have both books ready. I would recommend for a paranormal spicy book series. #fanart #summerread #vampires #drinkme #poc #woc #libby
This book was smutty and yet action packed. I actually loved this enemies to lovers story and the world building was superb. Would recommend!
I read this book as fast as I can because it was torturous. The author should have focused more on romance and plot and less time on porn. The female MC is supposed to be a strong female lead but instead is immature, entitled, arrogant, rude and abusive. I seriously hated being in her head. The minor characters were good. I would only read a sequel if it were from Adrian‘s POV. Giving this 2 stars is being way to generous. ⭐️⭐️/5 #LMPBC #GROUPV
I'd classify this book as vampire romance because fantasy would be a too strong word as the romance and relationship between the main characters is at the center. Besides that the plot is minimum. Who is looking for a steamy vampire romance story will be delighted. Who expects also adventure and some great worldbuilding will be disappointed. Nevertheless I think the story is nicely written and characters have also a bit depth, so it was enjoyable.
This was a great roadtrip read & palate cleanser after a heavy novel. I enjoyed KBB, but don‘t know that I‘ll read the next in the series. I enjoyed the world building & the morally grey love interest, but the heroine was frustratingly pigheaded. The🌶️🌶️🌶️was fine with me 😉, but Isolde kept making such dumb choices that I questioned why Adrian would want her as partner & co-regent. Not bad, just needed more character development. Overall 3/5⭐️
The was my first Scarlett St. Clair read. It was spicy with a capital S. There were a few places that the plot seemed rushed or had no point, but the characters were so interesting that it overshadowed the short comings. I read this as a Fabled smut book club book of the month. I would recommend this to anyone interested in spicy fantasy.
#LMPBC17 #GroupV @Readergrrl Book is on the way to you for April! Hope you enjoy it! 📖✍️🧛🏻
#LMPBC #GroupV I had a long flight to Arizona to go visit my mom which was the perfect opportunity to mark up and read this one! I didn‘t realize how 🌶️ it would be! It was good-not great. I loved the strong FMC and these Vampires were a great mix of past lore and stories. There were other creatures as well making this world more interesting. Lots of betrayals and magic and warring kingdoms! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 @persephone1408 @Readergrrl @sweetpealsd
Short and sweet review: if you‘re looking for an easy fantasy to sweep you up, this is a great choice. It has everything in a book I need. It‘s fast paced, has some mystery woven into it, a strong independent lead character, heavy on the romance, and vampires. I devoured this book. #scarlettstclair #vampires #fantasy #quickread
…ugh…
The 🌶️ was good.
Tragically that‘s it.
Everyone‘s behavior & emotions were so random, the jumps between different scenes were so jarring: oh, we‘re sad, now we are in combat, having sex again, sad, in a library maybe. A mishmash of random vampire lore that did nothing to serve the plot. 👎🏼
Probably should have bailed on the tagged, the 🌶️ is good but the PLOT & the MCs 😫 how are we doing miscommunication trope with someone who can read minds 🫠
This is probably the least amount of things I‘ve finished in a #20in4 & I actually hit 20(thank u 8 degree weather)
Didn‘t get to Parable
Killing Moon-fantastic
Malice House-pretty good
When I talk about running I will finish tomorrow - it‘s short.
& I‘m ready for #chloegongreadalong
Apparently I‘m super behind on posting reviews! I finished this one at the end of January. This is a vampire fantasy romance. It was a quick, fun read. I‘m waiting for second one from the library.
Finally read and finished my June #BookSpin pick! I don't know why I waited so long, but I loved it. Can't wait for book 2. And the spice was super spicy. That, I did not expect.
@TheAromaofBooks
Ok, idk what the hate‘s about. I loved it and can‘t wait for Queen of Myth and Monsters in December! Side note, I kept picturing Adrian as Henry Cavill in The Witcher. HAWT 🌶😍🥵
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed this one. Steamy and intriguing. Good world building.
I was a bit underwhelmed with this author‘s (smutty) take on my beloved Hades & Persephone, but I couldn‘t resist a dark (smutty) vampire fantasy… and I liked this one!
Sort of predictable, but I loved the bit of court intrigue, the sassy main character Isolde, the magic and witchiness, and of course the dark, super sexy vampire. I went in to this one knowing it was first in a series, and now I‘m looking forward to December.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bailing on this one. It‘s just, not good. A quarter in and the characters actions are illogical. Was there a prequel before this, it just feels like serious amounts of plot are missing so, not going to waste any more time. Thankfully a library book! #dnf
A #Roll100 book off my tbr!
Spending all my breaks outside today, getting as much sunshine reading in as I can. My cat approves. #catsoflitsy
So this is a little off but my pick for April is the above tagged book… I really enjoyed reading it and I‘m going to get the others by this author… I had a hard time picking out of the two because Empire of the Vampire was just as good … tough decision 📖🤨📚 I think it will get harder though 😨📚
What happens@when the monsters are the good guys??? Well you‘ll have to read it to find out 🤨📖… good read
So I‘m veering from the Malazan series to get this beauty in 📖🤗
It was so good! Adrian and Isolde‘s passion is what drew me in. Romance is a genre that I rarely read. However, I‘m so glad I read this one. Now I will wait patiently for nine months and 6 days until the sequel is released. #kingofbattleandblood #scarlettstclair
I really like the Enemies to Lovers trope in Romance. Adrian and Isolde are everything! #kingofbattleandblood #scarlettstclair
Book mail 🤗📚 love it when I get books in the mail
I can be anything. Your jail or, your savior, your lover. Your monster.” 🗡⚔️🌹🥀 #KingofBattleandBlood #ScarlettStClair
I stayed up late and read 102 pages. Yes, it‘s that‘s good! #Kingofbattleandblood #scarlettstclair

Spicy fantasy romance here! New take on the Vampire legend. Plenty of action and I can‘t even with how amazing the characters are. Love Adrian. Perfect book boyfriend. #romantsy #100readchallenge
What can I say, another book that is not a standalone like I thought. Our protagonist Isolde is quite funny and fun plot line that was a bit predictable but still a really good read.
Today was my first day back at work after recovering from covid! 🎉🎊🎉 It wore me out to be sure, but it was so good to be back! 💕📚💕 Now I'm cuddling and reading with Rumpel before heading to bed! #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #rumpel
My weekly reading goal. To read these 5 books. I'm currently in the the middle of three right now; where the red Fern grows, king of battle and blood, bag of bones. Bag of bones is on audiobook so it's doable to finish this week.
