Soaking up the last day of July. I wish summer could last a little longer!

I am a big Elin Hilderbrand fan but I am very behind in reading her books. This one was different from her others in that the main character died at the start of the book and she was able to watch her family and friends from above to see how they handled their loss. She was allowed 3 “nudges” to help them along through their grief.
An emotional , thought-provoking novel that still has a “beach read” feel to it. Viví is the cornerstone of her family so when she dies from a hit and run accident it turns the Howe family upside down. Her “viewing window” allows her three nudges to use to help set her family back on track. Her kids, Carson is larger than life and so is her pain, Leo is confused and scared and Willa remains resilient as the oldest sibling.
Book 155
I listened to Golden Girl, a light thriller with supernatural elements. Vivian, author and mother, gets killed in a hit and run while on her jog. Her storyline doesn't end there, though; in heaven she's granted not only the ability to watch over her family for three months but can also nudge them in the right direction three times. It's mildly entertaining and easy to listen to. The characters are flat and forgettable, though. 3.5 ⭐️s
my first Elin Hilderbrand novel, and I really enjoyed it. I listened to the audiobook, which was pleasantly narrated by Erin Bennett. it was an entertaining, beachy family soap opera with a dash of whodunit thrown in. sometimes I struggle with descriptive writing, but there is something appealing about Hilderbrand‘s descriptions of the Nantucket homes, beaches, and cuisine. I think I‘ll be reading more of her novels! 4 ⭐️s!
book 15/22 for 22
Very enjoyable beach read. The story was simple but engaging and made me want to go to Nantucket.
Just about finished and i can‘t say anything bad here. The underlying plot is sad yes, but written in a way that is entertaining and funny in parts. Def summer or anytime read.
This was so freaking good. I loved the whole conceit, and the characters were just developed incredibly. Possibly my favorite Hilderbrand. #womensfiction
I‘m typically a fan of Hilderbrand, but this book was a huge miss for me, it didn't have any upbeat manner of description or the excitement of anticipation. The book was all over the place and it was hard to stay interested. And now she's writing with a ghost and angel themes? DONE, I'm am so done with this author. She used to write great stuff now it's just loose fluff, so disappointing.
Although this was a little predictable, I still enjoyed it very much. I love spending time in Nantucket. I hope EH gives us a sequel to this one. This was the perfect beach read🏝☀️🥥
Listening to this kicked off a huge spree of Elin Hilderbrand audiobooks for me. I got sucked into this one pretty fast. We get to see a recently departed wife and mother watch the aftermath of her death from afar and make sure her husband and kids are okay. It‘s not as depressing as it sounds and there are some lighthearted moments. All set on the beautiful island of Nantucket. 4⭐️

My vacation brain wants something fluffyish😅I mean the premise is sort of grim but I‘ve started it and I‘m enjoying.
I book written from an afterlife point of view. A mother gets to see her children and ex move through their complicated lives in the aftermath of her sudden passing. It‘s rolad in a matter of fact and fun tone. There are serious moments but all in a matter of good taste. A definite read.
I loved the idea of this story and also the family aspect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
9-22-21: My 94th finished book of 2021! Vivi Howe is a novelist, her 13th book is about to debut, when running one morning she is hit and killed by an unknown driver. Vivi travels to a way station where she is allowed to watch her family for the summers day she is given 3 nudges to help them along. Told from many different perspectives this was a fun read with a beautiful message about taking care of your family always.
This was the first Elin Hilderbrand book I have read and I really enjoyed it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
1. Tagged
2. Any Elin Hildebrand or Beatriz Williams book.
3. Upcoming birthdays - my oldest turns 29 on Monday.

Vaguely fictionalized author Vivi is killed in a hit-and-run on Nantucket. She leaves behind 3 young adult children. Vivi is taken to heaven and allowed to watch the goings on in her family and on Nantucket for the summer and is allowed 3 nudges to help them. Definitely cheesy, but still enjoyable because it‘s Elin. Between a pick and a so-so.
Erin Bennett is still a great narrator for Elin‘s #audiobooks!
You ever get stuck in the middle of a bunch of books and just don‘t know what to finish? That‘s me tonight! Three audio and three print. 🤷🏻♀️
@Cinfhen here‘s my mid-week forecast! 😂 Hopefully I‘ll finish some before the weekend, but there will probably be some bails!
This was my first book that I‘ve read by Elin Hilderbrand and I loved it! I have to read her other novels if they are like this one! I‘ve heard so many good things about her books and I‘m glad I finally jumped on the bandwagon! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
I'm an Elin Hilderbrand fan, so I requested this from the library without reading the blurb, and as it turns out that was for the best. Had I realized that it started with the central character's death, I may not have chosen it as one of my vacation reads. But true to form, Elin managed a great beach read with a lot of complex family drama, and in such a unique way given that Vivi is looking on from the "beyond". Another Nantucket winner! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
1. Maybe!!
2. Not sure. I haven‘t met all of the characters yet!

I love it when the next book club pick is the book I‘m getting ready to read!
Say it isn‘t so - I‘ve actually read an Elin Hildebrand book within a month of its publication! I‘m spending a significant amount of my summer with Elin and feel like I‘m a ‘wash ashore‘ with her community. She expanded Nantucket to the afterlife, and I was down for it!
Another great Nantucket novel by Elin Hilderbrand! She‘s definitely one of my favorites. I read an article recently that says she‘s retiring in 2024 ☹
Retirement practice. It‘s still a good a ways out so I‘m training. It‘s 90 degrees and I love it. 🔥
