Ditched a work meeting for a coffee and some reading which seems fitting given the title.

I'm so thankful that I was able to take some time off to do nothing but read. 😍 This one is up next!
Cute palette cleanser if you‘ve been in a reading slump. This narrator is really good! 🎧
So fun! I loved this mash up of historical romance, mystery, and humor. Great on #audio, enjoyed every minute! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
This was fun to read! It‘s historical romance detective fiction 🤣 the story reminded me of the tv show ⬆️ and the League of Extraordinary Women book series.
Tub reading material ( makes me think of the tv series Miss Scarlett and the Duke)
I really enjoyed this mystery/romance. Lady Katherine is a feminist who runs a newspaper, & Eversham is a detective with Scotland Yard. They get together pretty quickly while investigating a serial killer case. Fun, light read. If you don‘t enjoy romance, you prob won‘t like this one. #scarathlon #teamslaughter @Clwojick 16 pts
A fun, easy breezy don‘t take seriously romp of mystery and romance. #lmpbc
Sarah it‘s here! Came Friday- but my weekend was rough and I just realized it was left for me to open. #lmpbc
This was a fun & fluffy #LMPBC read. There were a few aspects of the mystery part that left me feeling a little confused, but it's a book you read in the spirit it was written lol A soft pick.
This ended up being a busy/productive weekend so I only got through 525/700pg goal for the #AnyWayYouReadathon but we made lots of house-project progress so I'm pretty content!!

The murder at the center of this story is easily solvable. It‘s more a romance novel than anything else...but that‘s honestly the way I like my mysteries. 😅 Perfect for Deanna Raybourn fans.
Sexy, witty, & fast-paced.
I‘m thrilled that there will be a companion novel starring Lady Katherine‘s BFF, Caro, because I love that she‘s an eccentric rebel who flouts social conventions but also just openly & unabashedly loves love. 💖 Me too, Caro.
Suuuuuper busy day so a little late posting my goals, but I'm hoping to read 700 pages for the #AnyWayYouReadathon !!! I'm starting with the tagged book, which is for #LMPBC - pretty entertaining so far!!
@kimmypete1 @Eggbeater @MidnightBookGirl
Oh my gosh @Laughterhp this totally came earlier this week and I am just getting around to letting you know!! Looking forward to this one for April!!

This book wasn‘t as good as I wanted it to be. I‘ve definitely read better historical romance/mystery series. However, this was still a fun read and I‘m glad I read it. I don‘t want to say too much since it‘s my #LMPBC book.
This was a recommendation from #GetTBR from Book Riot.
Hey ladies! Here are some romance options for #LMPBC #GroupR
The first 4 I own, the last 2 I do not. My first choice would be the tagged. It‘s billed as a mystery/rom-com. The others are typical historical romance, a f/f romance and a southern magical realism, but is tagged as having romance.
Hallie - I tried to not pick what you already marked as read on GR 😂
They will all be tagged below. 💚
Bought a bunch of business books at my indie. So of course I also had to get a fun book for myself.
Hopefully I‘ll get to read at least one of these in the next 2 weeks before I start!

I think I‘m going to have to temporarily (or maybe permanently 😬) bail on this. I‘m not sure if I‘m just not in the mood for this type of story or if it‘s just not piquing my interest, but I‘m 33% through with it and I‘m struggling to keep reading
The author's bio says two of her influences are Nancy Drew and Jane Austen, and that's totally the vibe of this historical romance mystery. I loved Kate's empowered widowhood reporter life, and she had great bantery chemistry with Andrew, the lead detective. The romance aspect is much better done than the mystery, which was a little clunky tbh, but overall it was a fun time.

I hadn‘t heard of the tagged book. The cover of Ring Shot looks familiar but I‘ve never looked up reading it. I really liked Witchmark, so I‘m looking forward to The Midnight Bargain.
I‘m really excited for this round of books!
A lovely cozy Victorian mystery/romance with a feminist “stay sexy and don‘t get murdered” bent.
Kate is a widowed Lady and a newspaperwoman. She wrotes column about a serial killer and how the police are fumbling the case without thinking through the ramifications of what she published. Because of her story an innocent man is arrested and Andrew, an honest detective, is demoted. (Cort. ⬇️)
I was highly anticipating this book and I'm so happy it lives up to it. I thought #mandacollins really balanced out the romance and the mystery really well. It's been awhile since I've read a good historical mystery. This one checks all the boxes. #mystery #historicalromance
