March #serieslove2024 wrap up
No more books in a series will be read by Sunday so posting my monthly wrap up. I completed the truly devious trilogy, I‘m keeping current on the Click and Heartstopper series, and I‘m continuing on with the Nancy Drew series.

Thanks to hygge hour last night I was able to finish the last book in the Truly Devious trilogy. As a whole I did enjoy the series. Great mysterious murder plot but it really could have all been done in one book and in the end the big reveal felt anticlimactic. The tagged book just dragged as I waited and waited for Stevie to divulge who the killer was. Glad to have this series finally completed.

Spent most the day doing laundry and chores so it was extra relaxing this evening to don my favorite pair of cozy socks, have tea in one of my favorite mugs and lather my hands with a favorite scent of vanilla and lavender while reading the pictured books.
Glad to have finished out the mystery of who did it and how. Nice set of YA books.
80 degrees today on Michigan‘s thumb coast so enjoying my back deck with my current read and my all time favorite hard cider!!
I loved the entire trilogy covering the Truly Devious mystery. I have mixed feelings towards David, though. His friendship with Ellie really helped balance him out. Everyone has chaotic energy, but no one is quite at his level now. He just feels like a lot to handle, even when Stevie is in the wrong. Janelle and Vi are great, and Nate resonates with my soul. I was able to solve one mystery by process of elimination, and I do like the resolution.
Today on Stuff I Drank While I Read, we have an iced coffee from the McDonald‘s near the nature preserve where I took today‘s long-ass bike ride.
I‘m halfway through THE HAND ON THE WALL now, and while I like it, it‘s currently my least favourite in the series. I‘m pretty sure that‘s a momentum thing, though; I‘d be more involved with it if I‘d managed to read it right after THE VANISHING STAIR.
Time for more Maureen Johnson and a cup of Rooh Afaza! I‘m excited to get stuck into this mystery.
I love this series and I loved the finale. I knew who did it but it still didn't hinder the reveal. Also the fact that they're continuing the series with a new mystery just makes my heart happy. I love these characters and cant wait to see what they continue to do.
9/10 my only complaint is that the flashbacks always occur at the best parts of the book, but it‘s okay because the flashbacks usually get pretty intense too. I think this was my favorite of them all despite David being an asshole until he wasn‘t.
This was a great way to sum up this case. I loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every single book in this series has ended on a cliffhanger, which I think is a little cheap. It also discourages me to read when I know I will just have to buy the next book after this one and the series isn't even finished yet! This is a DNF. Maybe I will come back to it when I am in the mood for some cliff hangers...
Alice's ending always hurts me, but what a way to wrap up this series. Also, I love Nate. #yalit #murdermystery #latergram
4/5 for the last in this trilogy! I love how this all wrapped up! It was such a great trilogy. I loved it! Stevie is such an awesome character. I loved the mystery and all the twists. I would recommend these!
A very satisfying conclusion to the mystery at Ellingham. I liked this book the best. If you enjoy mysteries set at remote boarding schools filled with precocious teenagers, you‘ll like this series.
Book 3 did not disappoint. I love Stevie. These books have me craving Agatha Christie - I‘ve only ever read one. I‘d love to start from the beginning and collect some old editions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series is SO EPIC!! I totally loved it. Book 3 was just as good if not better than the others. It flipped back and forth between the 1930s and the present as the mysteries unraveled. I heartily recommend it for not only the clever story and the memorable characters but for the tongue in cheek writing style. I will definitely see what else she has written!
Fitting conclusion to a great mystery series! I really enjoyed how everything came together, not perfectly but also exactly right. I will miss these characters. #bookspinbingo #wintergames2020 #teameeadnosedreindeer 16pts. Now I HAVE to read the two book club books for next week‘s meetings!!
A brilliant finale book, love this series 😍 Read as part of the 1000 Doors readathon on Youtube. 5/5
I love this series so much and this was the perfect ending! YA mysteries are few and far between, and this one didn't fall short. And I'm so happy that we get another standalone!

This was such a good read. I really enjoyed this trilogy and the characters in it. The mystery was really good. I didn‘t guess the big reveal at the end at all so that was a nice surprise. I can‘t wait to read the new book coming out with these characters next year!
• The Hand On The Wall, Grace Peril, Goddess In The Machine
• House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City)
• All These Monsters

I've decided I'm going to give the #Popsugar Reading Challenge for this year. The challenge is 50 books, and luckily I can count may of the titles I've already read in 2020 so far.
Challenge 1 of 50: A book published in 2020
The Hand on the Wall was the first 2020 pub I read this year, so it gets the honor! I'll be updating with my challenge titles over the next few weeks until I get all caught up.

Finished the Truly Devious trilogy! I spent the last 2 hours 32 minutes 58 seconds doing it. As I said in my review of Book 2: The Vanishing Stair, I got to a certain point and felt compelled to read the rest as fast as possible. This one, The Hand On The Wall, I felt that way from the beginning. It was a fun read. It‘s Book #2 on my #BookSpinBingo and the 10th book I have read this month! There were a lot of traps and tricks in this one. Try it!
I‘m reading The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson 😁 Book 3 of the Truly Devious Trilogy. She drew me in at the get go. She‘s a master! #talkaboutittuesday
Been waiting for this for over a year now. Absolutely worth every second. I loved the ending
I'm interpreting it as-
At nine o'clock, walk twelve hundred steps in the north direction, then turn left and walk three hundred more.
I think I'm most probably wrong..
"When you tell someone to stay back, it's because you're going into a corner and can't get out."
Pg. 175
Definitely the best book in the series and a great conclusion that gave a lot of answers. Whilst I'm not keen on most of the characters, the story is really interesting and I love the clever teen detective solving a mystery.
Book #4 has been announced as a standalone mystery which is going to be really interesting and hopefully keep the story tight and concise.
If you like mysteries dive right in! Great wrap up to everything that happened.
I borrowed this from my library last month, but didn‘t finish it in time and it got returned. Apparently in that time the library pulled it and it‘s no longer offered! Putting it on hold until I can hunt the audio down from other libraries.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. I read them about as quickly as I did The Hunger Games. I like how Johnson ties the many story lines all together at the end.
Gah! All the library books come at one time! I went to the library Monday cause I need a new read and two of my loans came in a matter of 2 days 😂🤣 Good thing I can read this one in a day, I‘m sure!
A spectacular finish to this 3-part teen detective series which practically forces the reader to consume all three books in a row. I also especially appreciated the main character's wry sense of humor and quirkiness. The ending wrapped things up nicely and was a surprise for me.
Starting with a good twist and as well-paced as the 2 previous books in the series, The Hand on the Wall is a great conclusion to this YA mystery trilogy. The two intertwined stories are equally enjoyable and the characters are engaging. I only wish it wasn‘t over.
A fitting end to the trilogy although I do think it could‘ve been wrapped up in two books.
It's now May and I never put up my February and March reads, nevermind April. So I have some catching up to do! I believe that only one of these was actually read in March. Oops! Well, March was a rough month.
Favorite: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Least Favorite: n/a - they were all REALLY excellent

Eh. Fun but predictable. Book 2 was better imo. Read it for fun dont expect 🤯 Stevie and the gang wrap up the mysteries surrounding their school.
Great ending to the trilogy. Fantastic mystery with dual timelines and a fantastic young detective.
Number three in this series key up the mystery solving. The people who are dead or missing keep building up.
I read the three books in this trilogy in four days. That has never, ever happened before. It was GOOD. I did have some issues with the convenience of some things, but I was /beyond/ entertained and hooked. I need more. Is there anything out there that reads a bit like these books? I need it. I have a mighty need.
