Solid read
Realized at work this is book two in a series. And I haven‘t read book one. Starting it anyway.

The first half of this mystery about dead and missing young women in and around rural Vermont is a ho-hum ok read that feels a little generic. But then when it becomes clear what‘s going on, it really explodes. Wowza. Lots to think and talk about here and striding into controversial areas. And the end is pretty creepy. I would read this author again.
This was a quick read. It's about a couple of women disappearing after they go to an abortion clinic. Their deaths are quite nasty.
Never read this author before, and wasn't disappointed.
The story itself was decent, what pushed it over into good for me was the narration. R C Bray has that voice that can honestly make you want him to just read the dictionary to you. His narration made me want to read the third book in the series.
I liked this book, honestly I did. And I'm all for cliffhanger endings, but this goes too far. I NEED CLOSURE. That being said, it kept me on my toes. Each plot twist could be traced to a hint given in the pages prior so nothing seemed contrived. First time reading this author and would definitely pick up another of his books. 4/5🌟 #ericrickstad #canaries
I just finished this on audio, and it was very good. The book started off with a gruesome scene that really drew me in, and it never slowed down. I liked the way the author tied everything together. The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am going to see if there is a follow-up.
Good thriller. I really enjoyed it and will probably read other books by this author.
Yay!!!!!!! Thank you so much @That-Bookish-Hiker . I had to work today, but rushed straight home and ripped open everything. I love it all. This was my first litsy book exchange and I'm extremely pleased with the result. 👻☠️🎃😻👻❤️📚
A weekend of Eric Rickstad. Enjoyed them so much I ran out and got another one 🤓📚
Don't let the low score on this (36%) turn you off. It was twisty and suspenseful. The beginning will probably give me nightmares especially around Halloween. It ended on a cliffhanger, but don't fret, book 2 will be released next month. It is a bit slow in the middle but all the storylines tie up.
I'll give this a pick but it's not a highly enthusiastic pick, like halfway between pick and so-so. There were parts I found really clever, but there was so much going on, it would have been nice to have more focus. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but I don't really have any interest in hunting down the next one. A quick read, I just found it inconsistent.
Once I got past the whole 'true detective' thing I really enjoyed this creepy thriller about missing girls in Vermont. Very unsettling, especially the ending.
I'm getting kind of tired of the whole - this is the next whatever. This book has a blurb on the front that says 'Vermont's own True Detective'. It's not. It's a good mystery/thriller that's pretty messed up. I don't want to read something with something else in my head. #justsayin
There's so many to look forward to, but these are the ones I'm counting down for! Of course one of them was literally JUST announced for publication in September. That's so far! #mostanticipatedreads #seasonsreadings2016
I do have an ereader (Nexus 7), although I only use it on trips or for galleys - I probably only use it four or five times a year! I discovered this author through the Kindle store and LOVE his books, but is it weird that i only read the e versions? His sequel to this one is coming out late 2017 - I can't wait! #seasonsreadings2016 #ereader #e-reader
Whoa! I'm 5 mins into this book and I've already 😳🤔😱😧😦😮
Frank thought he was done with murder when he turned in his detective's badge to become a private investigator and raise a daughter. Then the police in his rural community find a car abandoned by the side of the road, and the teenage girl who owned the car seems to have disappeared without a trace.
With the his violent and painful past plaguing him, and young women vanishing, he discovers that even in small towns, evil lurks everywhere.
#TBR 😱
Entertaining but convoluted. No character development. Entirely plot driven. Another decent quick read (or audiobook listen).
A lot of mystery novels rely on dumb luck.:..this one a little too much so.
