Green: Trilogia delle gemme 3 | Kerstin Gier

Sono davvero contento di aver chiarito le cose. In ogni caso resteremo sempre buoni amici, giusto?

Hi everyone! I really enjoyed the last book in this series. It ended very well. This was a fun time travel series with some romance. #kindlefire #paperwhite #library #bookgeek #booklover #litsy

So after struggling so much with the German version (it was not so hard for the first 2 books) I found the translated version to be much easier... So I might stand a chance to finish it over the weekend now!

Sace I enjoyed this series (in English 😊) 6y
julesG I still haven't started this. 😑 6y
catsuit_mango @julesG I'm curious to know if you think the writing style changed or not. I do not remember struggling so much with the first 2 books. 6y

julesG Eventually started this and might bail before the first chapter is done. I have a hard time getting into it. 6y
catsuit_mango Thanks @julesG it seems that the style (and not only my rusty German) might have something to do with this :) 6y
julesG Yes. The style is atrocious. I will never understand how these books have become so popular. I would not have dared to publish them had they been my own work. I'm a terrible perfectionist. 6y

I'm nearly at the middle of the book, I really want to finish the Serie but I can't seem to concentrate. I don't know if it's because my German is rusty or because the story is blah... Does it get better? Should I just give up?

Ruby Red trilogy, book three.

This is a light and breezy YA fantasy romance with a lot of time-traveling adventure. Though the events in the trilogy take place over a two week period, it seems longer because of the constant jumping back and forth in time. I enjoyed almost every character except for Gwen and Gideon. The insta-love annoyed me. The ending ties everything up in a nice, neat bow.

This was a fun and light series and I really enjoyed the audio books. The time traveling bits were confusing sometimes, which is really say something. I watch Doctor Who and can handle a lot of timey wimey. Some of the time traveling plot points just didn't quite make sense. The ending was unexpected, but was satisfying. I would definitely recommend this series if you areblooking for a fun, fast read.

tpixie Fun! Great cover too! 💚💚💚 7y
sammisho @tpixie The covers are what made me read this series! I never heard of it before but came across these when searching on overdrive! 7y

This was a fun series. It wrapped up a little too quickly for me, as I had some more questions I wanted answered, but overall very enjoyable. #litsyAtoZ #letterE

alanacristin I loved the first two! Will have to find an affordable copy of this last one. The bookstore the other day had it 27$ in paperback 💔 glad you liked it! 7y

Overall an entertaining series that wrapped up nicely. It took longer than I would have liked to read this. Partly it was because I was back at work this week and partly because there was a slight slowdown around page 300.

CoverToCoverGirl Hello kitty! 😻 8y
Sace @CoverToCoverGirl that's Bat. He's a cranky old man, but I love him. 8y
CoverToCoverGirl Love the name😂 He's beautiful! 8y

Sace @CoverToCoverGirl My husband named him. He comes up with names like "Bat" and "Ash". I come up with names like "Larry" "Frederick" and "Shirley". True story. 8y
Mariposa_Bookworm Bat is beautiful and unimpressed. I love him! 💕🐾😻 8y
CoverToCoverGirl @Sace You have to admit "Bat the Cat" does have a certain ring to it! ?? and a little "catitude" is always charming! 8y
Sace @CoverToCoverGirl I tend to morph it into "Batrick" sometimes "Fat Batrick". He's plump to say the least. 8y
Sace @Mariposa_Bookworm it is impossible to impress Bat. He is fluent in "Harrumph" ? 8y
GypsyKat I liked this series. I thought it was fun. 😊 8y
Sace @GypsyKat I did too. I loved Xemerius. 8y
GypsyKat @Sace Yes! So funny! He was great! I actually thought there was a great small group dynamic throughout the series. 8y
Sace @GypsyKat there really was! I kinda wanted Xemerius for a pet. 8y
GypsyKat @Sace Right? He was the best! 🙃 8y
Sace @GypsyKat and he loved to read trashy romance. 😂 8y

I need some lighter fare before I start March Book Three.

Mariposa_Bookworm The cover is soooooo pretty! 8y
Sace @Mariposa_Bookworm I am so in love with the covers in this series. Sometimes I just stare at them. This one is probably my favorite. 8y
Mariposa_Bookworm @Sace Sometimes getting hypnotized by the cover is not a good thing. The cover was the only good thing about the last book I read, Heartless by Marissa Meyer. Do you recommend this series? Is the story engaging? 8y
See All 13 Comments
Sace That's a tough question @Mariposa_Bookworm. I'm really not a very critical or discerning reader, so I hate to say I "recommend" it because my standards are pretty low. ? This is YA and it's pretty simple YA at that, but it's not a difficult read and the story keeps me engaged (which like I said isn't saying much.) Honestly there's a gargoyle that gets introduced in book 2. I'm in it for him. ? 8y
saresmoore GREEN COVER! Preeeeetty! 🤤 8y
mcipher Great cover! And I love gargoyle characters. There's one in a great series by Shawna Swendson. I'm also a kind of trashy reader so I feel you. 👍 8y
Sace @mcipher YES! The Enchanted Inc. Series? Love that one! 8y
mcipher @Sace Yes!! Couldn't think of the name, only the author. That is a fun series! 8y
Sace @mcipher It really is! I feel like I remember seeing there's a short that features the gargoyle? I haven't read it. And I think I still haven't read the last 2 in the series. 8y
mcipher @Sace Yeah, I'm not sure I read them all. I lost track! I hadn't heard about the short but I'm going to look into it - thanks!! He was a great character. 8y
AnnieReads That cover is gorgeous! 8y
Sace @AnnieReads honestly I picked this series because of the covers. Thank goodness it turned out ok. 8y

I finished this last book of the Ruby Red trilogy last night. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I've seen other reviews say it felt "too immature". Well, yeah. It's written from the perspective of a 16yr old. Did they expect aged wisdom? It's fun, and surprisingly funny. She can time travel, she can talk to ghosts, she has a hilarious best friend, and a love of karaoke. What's not to like? The overall tone reminded me of Buffy.

Abby-J "Reminded me of Buffy" gets immediately added to my TBR. 8y
GypsyKat @Abby-J The tone of the series reminded me of Buffy, not the content. Really the humor, the fun characters, and the life and death mysteries mixed in with a bit of high school drama. It was a fun, easy trilogy. You'll have to let me know what you think when you read it. 👍🏼 8y

Perfect ending of an amazing series.
I couldn't be more happy with how things turned out.
All in all, it was an interesting and fast paced read as well as Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue.
I am sure I will be rereading this series in the future and I will pay attention to little details I surely missed this time.
Nicely written, Kerstin.
