I didn't know much about the Easter Rising before this, so this was a very interesting read. It set up the context for the rebellion well. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series, and I also hope to find a good nonfiction book about this period.

A story of the brave men and women who, few a few unforgettable days, held out against the might of the British Empire to realize an impossible #dream.

#bookhaul post 2/3 The Swallows is an arc and was free. There was a small shelf of “free with purchase” arcs by the counter and I‘ve had my eye on this anyway.

Well researched and interesting. Given the subject matter it reads slower than a lot of the other historical fictions I‘ve read. I imagine the books further in the series will read faster as the conflict accelerates.

#historicalhussies 😂 here are my options. The tagged book is the correct one- but I put 1921 in the pic bc I couldn‘t find the 1916 copy readily. The two starred ones are alternate history fiction. Are we targeting January for the initial mailing? We still have one more month in this mailing.

Avanders Fun! These all look interesting, but my top 3 choices would be the 2 star‘d ones or the Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. 📚📚 5y
Avanders Ps now there are 2 litsy posts with the #historicalhussies 😂😂 5y
JenlovesJT47 The only one I‘ve read is The Paris Wife. I‘m cool with any of these but I‘ve been wanting to read My Lady Jane for awhile now 🤓 5y

Day 3 I had no idea what this phrase meant. I looked it up and one site said "something the Irish did when rebelling against England ", so that made me think of this book I read many years ago, a great great book.

Cinfhen This sounds interesting 🤓 5y

gradcat @Crazeedi I didn‘t know what it meant either (see my post—nothing to do with the correct meaning!). 🤣 5y

So... this made me giggle and then ask my husband a ridiculous line of questions. My tummy hurts from laughing now. My husband is not as amused 😂

1. 1916 made me want to go to Ireland to see Dublin.
2. Ireland ;)
3. I'd love to go to Europe, London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and back to Ireland.
4. Either!
5. I've never had gelato! I'll have to remedy that soon!

I'm really excited about my latest library acquisition! I've wanted to read more about the Easter Rising since my recent trip to Dublin. (Yes, this is a fictionalized account, but still.)
