December 7 #DecemberDreams Scrooge I think he is happy 😊 @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I finished this sweet novella on Christmas Eve. It takes place during the Summer Solstice, but Scrooge enlists the help of the Christmas spirits to help his friends and family become more charitable. Lovett does a good job channeling the feel and cadence of Dickens.
I was a little too excited to start reading for #WinterGames2020 and finished one of my #Bookspin books 🤦🏼♀️.Scrooge has kept Christmas in his heart since his visit from the four ghosts many years before, but he‘s only one person and the needy are many. This time, Scrooge is the one changing hearts.

Anybody else start a book, only to read a few pages and realize you read it before? Yeah, I read this last Christmas. Liked it. Moving on to new holiday fun.
I won this book from @BucklingBookshelves blog a couple years ago, but I haven't read it yet. Hopefully I can get to it this year! #bahhumbug #seasonsreadings

We‘ve had a dusting of ❄️ the last 2 days so I‘m in the mood for Christmas. Second #Christmas tale of the season.
Yeaaaaa met my goal yesterday! I still have 3 books going and I have a 4th that I would love to get to before 2018 as well, so I won‘t be doing any stats or faves of the year yet. I had a goal of 100 books last year and met it, but I had to read 10 books in December. That was a little too much for me. 90 is much more manageable. Since I have no idea what I‘ll be doing next year in terms of job, I‘ll be starting with a low goal & upping as I go.
I read this charming little book in 2 sittings this afternoon—the 1st sitting was while enjoying a coffee at Barnes & Noble & the 2nd was while curled up in my chair. This is set 20 years after the events of A Christmas Carol. Scrooge celebrates Christmas every day of the year, even on June 21st. He solicits the help of Marley & the 3 spirits to teach his nephew, Bob Cratchit, & his bankers why Christmas is so important for the good of humanity.
@PirateJenny I picked up your package on my way out of town to visit family and I‘m extremely impatient so I just had to open it when I got to my hotel room. You are the most amazing human being ever! You know me so well and even though I hadn‘t heard of any of these titles, they all look amazing! I am speechless at your generosity. I hope you enjoy your presents as much as I do. #litsypenpals
Oh no, a friend just pointed out to me that I missed this year‘s Scrooge Festival in the Dutch town of Arcen which is only 30 minutes from where I live. They host this every second year and it‘s basically a Dickensian Christmas market with carol singers etc. I‘m so bummed I missed it. It‘s definitely on the list for 2019. 😊
This story was a cute sequel to A Christmas Carol if a bit lukewarm. It's a quick read about what happened to Ebenezer Scrooge after being visited by the ghosts that changed him. It's like the original in that a lot of the original characters make an appearance, with the twist that now it's up to Scrooge to help others change their ways and help his former business partner. 🎄🎩☃️👻
Loki approved! :-) Much love and a big shout out to @MrBook for snagging my interest on this book. It was sweet and lyrical, and made for a very enjoyable holiday read! :-) #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #holidayreads #readingcompanion
Started this treat on our drive to Lambeau Field for a snowy outdoor football game! ❄️🏈❄️ #gopackgo
Officially starting my next holiday read ♡ Much thanks to @MrBook for tweaking my interest in this one! :-)
Braved the cold, somehow managed to avoid SantaCon, and made it back to my nice warm blankets with my new library #bookhaul. Because tis the season to stay inside and read all the things.
#TBRtemptation post, #Christmas edition! Well, I'll be naughty & get some coal, check this out! Ought to be an interesting little read ?. This sort of thing never crossed my mind with Scrooge; other characters, sure, and widely & popularly done, but Scrooge never crossed on my mind. I definitely want to know what happened after "A Christmas Carol", and so do you, I can see it in your eyes: that yearning to know. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?
It's not often that you find something both so similar and so different from a beloved classic, but this pulls it off! Everything you love about Christmas Carol, but all new! Dickens could have written it himself. Lovett's attention to detail brings new life to these classic characters and continues to shine light on the social issues present in the original story. (Grabbed this pic off the author's Facebook, but I wanted to use something good.)
Oh. My. Goodness. How did I not know this existed?!?? A Christmas Carol is my favorite Christmas-related story, and I've always thought a follow-up would be fun to read! Bought myself this with my 30% off coupon at #barnesandnoble!
