I was halfway through the book when I realized, ACK THIS IS YA!
I‘m glad I soldiered on. This is a year in the life of 3 seniors in high school who are your typical outcasts for different reasons. The character development was great! The 3 MC‘s are all likable & you‘ll love to hate some other characters.
It hit me in the feels. Listen to it!

This is the first time in years that I haven‘t been able to attend the Festival of Faith and Writing in Michigan. I‘m not gonna lie, I cried a little.
My husband, who presented and manned the exhibition table for his quarterly book review, took on my dork mantle and got a bunch of books signed (which I‘d pre-purchased when I thought I would be attending.) PLUS, he bought me surprises!!

Wonderful story telling. I‘m glad I bought his second book, because this is a very promising debut.
I switched back and forth between audio and paper. The audio performers were good (especially Michael Crouch.)
Could you make it out? 😆
Dill is the son of a Tennessean, snake-handling preacher who is incarcerated for possessing child pornography. High school is not exactly fun for Dill, but his music and two best friends, misfits Lydia and Travis, help him survive and maybe see a life after High School. Great story with a twist that threw me! So far my favorite for #RITeenBookNominees
This book certainly had its moments and it touched me enough to wring quite a few tears out of me. Still, the characters all felt like familiar archetypes and the ending was too pat and unrealistic for my tastes.
I want to hug this book in hopes of maybe, possibly hugging the main characters in this story. I loved these characters fiercely and didn't want their story to end and need to know that everything is going to be ok with them.
This is definitely one of my favorite YA reads this year. My #3 YA read for 2016!
This audiobook has already made me cry three times. And I'm only 75% for it. My heart is continuously breaking.
Here are a few of my TBR Tuesday books. I'm reading primarily Ebooks nowadays b/c my kindle is easier to deal with on my commute...and I can't help myself when I see stuff I've been meaning to read on sale for $1.99 or $2.99! Any Litsy friends read these yet?
