I read this one at the recommendation of my 15 year old niece. I don‘t read a lot of YA but I really liked this one.

Tiffany D. Jackson sure does know how to tell a story. I have figured out where Monday is yet but my gut has all the feels that something bad has happened. Six weeks of rest and recovery has me scrolling the book websites looking for more books as if I don‘t have bookcases full of books.
Started this book and put it down. Just picked it up again and finished it in one sitting. Sometimes it‘s just not the right time. Really glad I tried again.

Everything Tiffany D. Jackson writes is like a punch in the gut. I had to force myself to put this book down every night and go to bed, because I wanted to stay up to finish the whole thing in one sitting. I needed to know how it was going to end.
So tempting to go with the Thursday Murder Club for #Temptingtitles #withaweekday but this is also a good one! A YA thriller!

When the author said “ Like leftovers to be re heated” when that guy left April high and dry all I could think of was the times I‘ve let men ghost me and come back like nothing happened; I allow them to reheat me when ready smh .. this book is good !
Ms. Jackson is not only prolific but is multi-talented in terms of themes and styles. This is a must read if you like Jackson or are new to her.

Really intrigued with this one🙊
Only a few chapters in and I can tell this is going to break my heart. Oof.
Claudia and Monday have always been inseparable—more sisters than friends. So when Monday doesn‘t turn up for the first day of school, Claudia‘s worried.
When she doesn‘t show for the second day, or second week, Claudia knows that something is wrong.…

I adore Tiffany D. Jackson‘s amazing plots!
😭😭 completely wrecked
Claudia and Monday are inseparable, when school starts Monday isn‘t there, but no one believes Claudia when she tries to tell them Monday is missing.
Really nailed the middle school “mean girl” culture. &the vantage point of a middle school girl that no adults take seriously, of thinking you know everything then realizing all that‘s not shared. The tragedy of what can happen behind closed doors.
Literally heartbreaking.

Claudia & Monday have always been best friends. When the new school year starts and Monday isn‘t there, Claudia worries something happened to her. As she tries to convince the adults in her life that Monday is missing, no one takes her seriously.
I couldn‘t put this one down. It goes back and forth between two different timelines and was a page turner. I love when I have no idea how a story will end, it keeps me invested.
This book is devastating to read. I really liked the premise but wasn‘t a big fan of the jumping of timelines and how some of these friends trauma seems to just be glossed over. Still definitely worth a read.
Claudia is the only person who notices that her best friend Monday is missing and no one even attempts to look for her…until her body is found a year later.
First book of the year, I give it 5 stars. An emotional, dark sad book based on a true story. A must read!
🎉🎉My 2021 Top 10 Favorite Ya Fiction 🎉🎉( in no particular order- a few ties for top 5 🤦♀️)
This was/is such a good book, made me super emotional 😢 4.5
Read for #PopSugarReadingChallenge2021 and December #Buzzwordathon - Day/Month/Year
When I say everyone needs to read this book, I mean EVERYONE. This story and it‘s haunting truth will stay with you, and the gut-punching realization that the horrors described in this book are a reality for thousands of children, maybe even strangers we have crossed paths with…. I feel like an emotional train wreck after this one! Wow. I wanted to read this after hearing about some parent drama in a nearby county with lots to say against this book and trying to get it removed. Plus, it‘s a Coretta Scott King winner and tackles some real heavy topics. The story is about Claudia, who leaves to spend the summer at her grandmothers only to come back to find her best friend has disappeared and no one seems concerned by this.
For the most part I really enjoyed this book, but I think it fell a little short of all the hype I've heard about it. I think the overall story does a fantastic job in highlighting the ways in which Black lives, especially Black women's and children's lives, are overlooked and not seen as a priority. The fact that Claudia had dyslexia added a lot to the story. The twist at the end was also pretty unexpected and original.
I imagined that an audiobook would never be able to make me cry. WRONG. This was an intense rollercoaster ride of a book about Claudia who returns from a summer away to find her best friend Monday missing. Despite her pleas, no one seems to be able to help her find Monday. A book filled with secrets revealed and a slowly unfolding tragedy. The unique timeline was a little tough to stay with on audio, but other than that, this one‘s a stunner.
I don‘t know what just happened. The book jumped between four different timelines, and I personally have a really bad habit of not reading the chapter titles, so this one was hard for me. That twist at the end made no sense either. 2⭐️
This book destroyed me. Poignant & beautiful as it was devastating. 🖤this one will live with me @BeaG thank you so, so much🙏🏻
Just finished this book and I am shocked! Definitely a great pick 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This novel will have you at the edge ... memorable, suspenseful, unputdownable. Monday is a girl who goes missing...

Claudia‘s best friend Monday is missing, but none of the adults in her life seem to take her concerns seriously.
This was a great YA thriller! The main character is learning to manage her dyslexia along with typical teenage struggles, and of course the loneliness of her friend being gone. I really enjoyed the author‘s description of the way Claudia was moved by and escaped into dance.
I have a new blog post up about auto-buy authors so if you have time, maybe check it out?
Dang, this book really broke my heart. The ending got a little predictable about halfway through, but it was full of interesting twists and turns. Such a good YA thriller!
1st book by Tiffany Jackson and it won‘t be my last. This is a heartbreaking read, y‘all. I definitely recommend it, but please be prepared - you‘ll be on the verge of tears a lot. Powerful, intense, heart-shattering.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 A page turning and heartbreaking YA mystery that kept me up late.
Just finished. It was a book that was truly heartbreaking. I did not expect the ending or at least, I was hoping it might have a slightly different ending.
And somehow it just gets even more messed up. I hope this woman got a life sentence and is never allowed out.
Something is just not right with this mother. If her son was doing all these things, couldn‘t she have found a a better way to handle the situation, instead of choking him to death? I agree putting hands on girls and his sisters was wrong but two wrongs don‘t make a right.
Hoping to start this tonight. Interesting name mc has. I‘ve heard of people naming their kids after months like April or May, but I‘ve never heard of a name that‘s also a day of the week
The constantly shifting timelines didn't work for me on audio... i think i would have liked it better if i had the physical book in my hands and could flip back and forth when i needed to reorient myself. I read a spoiler for the ending online, so I'm comfortable bailing.
Holy crap this book was so good, but so heartbreaking. Claudia just came back from a summer with her grandmother. She is so excited to see her best friend Monday. When she arrives for the 1st day of school, she knows something is wrong when Monday doesn‘t show up to school. What happened to Monday? Claudia needs to know what happened to her friend. I didn‘t see the twist coming towards the end of the book. I couldn‘t put this book down!
