Dark and twisty like most Nordic Noir, this was a really great read for me because the twist was a surprise. I read a lot of murder mysteries so that doesn't always happen much anymore. This is a multiple POV narrative format by chapter so it's kind of a slow burn; you're not quite sure where the threads are going until you see them all pulled together in the end. If you like Jo Nesbø or Henning Mankell, do pick this up. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterI

Another Swedish thriller - and a really good one! I liked the use of three narrators and liked seeing the story from multiple points of view. Lots of twists and turns to keep you enthralled to the end. Hopefully she‘ll write more thrillers soon!

Camilla Grebe excels in the area of character development in this complex psychological thriller. This is a character driven novel and each chapter is written with a character's different point of view. The storyline centers around 2 different murders which are very similar and happen 10 years apart. Lots of dark and surprising twists which kept the pages turning until the last page. If you like psychological thrillers, then read this one.

Completely character driven. It was interesting to see how they all connected but it didn‘t get exciting until the last 50 pages or so.

Just started this!! Only a few pages in. I‘m intrigued by the case but not sure how I feel about the characters yet. Can‘t wait to see where this one goes...

It was alright, not the greatest mystery I‘ve read. Needed more plot and character development.

Putting this on hold until I get the actual book from the library. The audio is horrible.

So I guessed whodunnit about 1/3rd from the end but despite that this was an enjoyable read. Lots of building of characters which I liked; felt I got inside each of the main characters and understood their connection to the story.

Pg. 101 of my current read. Not necessarily a key part of the murder mystery element but certainly part of the building of character profiles.

I liked the mother moving away which signified security and stability in the mind of a young child.

Multi-tasking - waiting for veg to cook before I fry the homemade tofu sweet potato burgers.

The Scandinoir murder mystery is really good 👍

Normally spend my lunches walking around town with my friend/colleague but she is on duty (and leaving soon) so I'm making a start on my new book.

This thriller kept me guessing throughout! The police procedural and psychological profiling is richly detailed. Love the atmosphere, the troubled detectives and the innumerable twists and turns. Pick this if you love thrillers with unreliable narrators and intense plot development!

I enjoyed this thriller. The three narrators were used to great effect and I was so pleased by the twist ending and resolution. If you're in to bleak visions of human nature and suspenseful murder cases, check this one out.

I loved this book. The format is some what different from a traditional mystery/thriller, but I found that made the book even better. Despite the fact that the main characters Hanne and Peter are not perfect, I really enjoyed them and hope to see them in future books. I would definitely recommend this book!

I have less than 100 pages left. Usually, I can guess the ending of mysterious, murder-y stories, but not today!! Not today. I have to stop myself from speed reading my way through. Patience is a virtue, right?

cherinium I keep seeing this come up as a recommended read for me, but I wasn't sure about it....it seems like too many books these days promise "a twist you won't see coming." I've started wondering if it's possible to surprise readers. ? BTW, I miss your witty self! 8y
Elephantango @cherinium I miss you, too! And I just finished the book! I did not see the twist coming. Read it! 🤓 8y

Here we go y'all. This book is billed as "for fans of Jo Nesbø, Camilla Läckberg, and Ruth Ware" - SUCH a winning combination. I've only just started reading it, but it begins with the discovery of a woman's beheaded corpse. The writing is already incredibly engaging and I can't wait to see where it goes! #crimefiction

This novel is a tale of betrayal, obsession and pain that is full of dark and dangerous surprises that I didn‘t fully see coming. The twist didn‘t completely blow me away, mainly because Grebe had me guessing so much throughout the book that by the time the twist is revealed, I had already worked through so many possibilities. However, it was still a very enjoyable read for fans of dark and deadly crime fiction. Full review on www.novelgossip.com
