#12 of 2025! Will Trent No. 7!
Started: 4/18/25
#serieslove2024 Will Trent is deep undercover in Macon, keeping all secret from Sara. A case of trying to take down a criminal boss that little is known about. Sara comes to Macon after her stepson gets shot, she gets caught up in the same case. Will the lies break the relationship? Full of Slaughters very evil criminals hunted by flawed but diligent agents & cops.
Quiet Sunday morning. I‘m reading my Slaughter book, Crosby is thinking about breakfast.

The thing that keeps me most interested in Slaughter's work is her ability to write such believable characters. I'm not just thinking about these well loved - or hated - characters, but even characters from her stand-alones still pop into my head as real people.
The way she uses them enriched the plot and further the story in ways that couldn't be done if you weren't as invested in them as she makes you feel.
Will Trent is a Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent, working undercover in Macon, Georgia, posing as Bill Black, a scary ex-con who trails an air of violence wherever he goes. The cover has worked and he has caught the eye of a wiry little drug dealer who thinks he might be a useful ally. But there‘s a problem. Cut off from the support of the woman he loves, Sara Linton, Will finds his demons catching up with him.
Bk2 of August is done. Crap picture but I only have the ebook of this one. My 2nd favourite Will Trent, it brings back the OTHER mean girl in Sara‘s life, Lena Adams. The woman responsible for Jeffrey‘s death is now embroiled in Wills undercover operation so naturally, Wills life is on the line. And naturally he doesn‘t tell Sara which is the worst decision he makes. Lena & her husband Jared, Jeffrey‘s son(ick)are ambushed at home & nearly killed👇
The 7th. Pom of the Will Trent series. Karin Slaughter has a way to take some “damaged” people and assist her readers in finding are really bad and taking other characters and helping them find some goodness deep inside. Parts of her novel are pretty vicious. Some topics could trigger negative emotions in readers. Sexual violence is present. 4.25/5
This is the seventh entry in the Will Trent series. I loved revisiting the characters that Slaughter has created. She knows how to write a good edge-of-your-seat thriller. I appreciated that this one had a little less gore and graphic violence than most of the others, even though there were still moments that were horrific. Slaughter inserts enough lighter moments and laughs to make the darkness bearable.
Bk13 of July & Bk5 of #JubilantJuly is done. The 7th Will Trent brings Lena back to the party. Slaughter really knows how to write damaged women, between Lena & Angie I spend half her books wanting to punch someone! Wills undercover, Lena ends up involved & Sara ends up hurt. Hopefully everyone learns their lesson but it‘s Karin so that‘s a big NO. 10⭐️ #BookspinBingo #SeriesLove2023
Not sure who has been going along with the show, I know some of us were perturbed. I‘ve just accepted that it‘s nothing to do with the books & enjoying it by itself. They take the odd storyline or plot device from the books. & I was so mad at first bc Will undercover as Bill Black in this book, THIS BOOK just has so many of my favorite Will Trent moments. & I knew I wasn‘t getting any of them 😂 it was a good episode, however completely unrelated
15. Next installment in the Will Trent series, nice to be back in their world but parts were very gruesome. 4/5
This book was really intense. I swear if Will gets anymore scars he‘s going to be one big scar! On the plus side, I‘m really glad he and Sara are communicating better now and are in love. Hopefully Angie will be found and sign the divorce papers. We shall see. #SeriesLove2023 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
(Bonus novella "Busted") “Will Trent is a GBI Will Trent is a Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent whose latest case has him posing as Bill Black, a scary ex-con who rides a motorcycle around Macon, Georgia, and trails an air of violence wherever he goes. But undercover and cut off from the support of the woman he loves, Sara Linton, Will finds his demons catching up with him.
Is anyone watching Will Trent? I am really enjoying it.

Wow! This one was the most intense yet in the series. Will Trent is undercover trying to track down a man known as Big Whitey. It starts off with a gruesome scene involving Lena Adams and things are action packed and brutal all the way to the end.

⌘ Full of action. This time it keeps getting better and dangerous. I like all the detailed articles about crime and cases that they handle. I really like Faith and Amanda. I certainly like Will and Sara all the way until the end. They deserve each other. Deserve to be happy.
⌘ I'm excited to read the next book. Yay! Highly recommended!
📙Unseen [Karin Slaughter]
👩💻 Uys, Pieter-Dirk (can't say he's a favourite, but he's the only one I can think of)
📽️ Up (2009)

🎶 Unchained Melody [Righteous Brothers]
The story opens with two police officers being brutally attacked in their home. Macon has been seeing an increase in drugs, violence and criminals getting set free by powerful attorneys and showing other forms of advancement in their lives. Rumors of Big Whitey coming into town and creating all of this fly around. Was that why the officers were attacked. Are they the good guys or the bad guys?
Finally finished! I enjoyed this next book in the Will Trent series. Karin Slaughter rocks. I‘m ready to read on!
I‘m happy to say I at least completed one goal for #JoysOfJune. 🤓
Still cannot seem to get into any books. I‘m up to 7 books and things aren‘t going well. Maybe Karin Slaughter can pull me out of this? Ugh! Slumps are the worst.
Um, I was excited and underwhelmed. Was it necessary to drag Lena back 😔 this fell short for me.
This author's writing is a bit gory for my taste but the characters and storylines are so interesting that I keep reading her books. I enjoyed the short story at the end of this book (title" busted) more than the novel itself.
Karin Slaughter is an expert at plotting crime fiction! So well done. And, as always, I have so much love for Will Trent as a character. He's making his way towards the top of my favorites list.
And my usual warning: read the Grant County series before the Will Trent series! Trust me.
My little book haul from today‘s library book sale.

This was a good keep-you-on-the-edge of your seat thriller. I haven‘t read anything else in this series, but I would read another one.
#MarchIntoOz #day7 #Scar Today is about scars, those you can see & those you can‘t.No one writes scarred people like Karin Slaughter. You have Sara with the scars from her rape & mental ones from seeing her husband die,Will Trent with his childhood scars,Angie with her mental scars that have twisted her inside & the worst,Lena.I‘ve never despised a character more, she likes to dig at her scars & spread the misery round, not caring who she hurts.💔🖤
Behind the second set of doors.... lays more books that don't fit on the shelves above. Thank gosh for the #mountTBR challenge, I have to read some of these books!
Another good outing with Will Trent. Triggers as per usual with Karin Slaughter but seemed a bit toned down for this book.
Maybe I've read too many of these back-to-back. This one just didn't resonate with me. I still like the characters but the Macon story line didn't do it for me. I'm also pretty tired of Lena Adams.
Woohooo classes in my masters program are done until mid January.... bring on the books 📚!!!!!
After two years I finally jumped back into the Will Trent series. I love his character and this book didn't disappoint. I haven't read the Grant County series which I believe has more of Lena Adams and I'm glad I haven't. I really don't like her. Anyway, this book was full of suspense and disturbing situations. Karin Slaughter never fails to entertain me. Now it's time for The Kept Woman.
As much as I despise Lena Adams, I think that this is one of Slaughter's best books. There's a beautiful brutality to this story, a level of harsh healing that gas been necessary for these characters for a long time. This is a book that shows the worst in people, all the ways we can hurt each other, how even love can be messy and cruel. I love love loved every awful perfect page.
Watching a sick kiddo today; she's finally asleep so it's time for "nanny happy hour": iced tea, a piece of custard pie, and some time to really sink into my book.
You guuuyyyyys, I hit a milestone today! Thanks for all the likes and stacks, for Hamiljokes and great discussions about everything from picture books to romance and mystery.
Unexpected bonus day off work; my partner had a minor car accident this morning and by the time I knew she was okay and her car was damaged but driveable, I'd already found someone to cover for me. So I'm diving in to this while she talks to insurance and such.
My TBR Tuesday books for this week. I'm in the mood to be terrified, apparently. The two Karin Slaughter books are up first because (eeeee, grabby hands) my UK copy of The Kept Woman will arrive on Monday!
Just finished rereading Unseen in anticipation of receiving The Kept Woman, the new Trent/Linton book soon. When I met the author, I told her I call her the George RR Martin of crime, because she's not shy about killing main characters and shocking readers. She laughed. This book is a great example.
