I just couldn‘t do it. From the first 40 pages I couldn‘t get with the writing or the flow of the story, it just seemed basic and predictable.

I really loved this book, it's fantasy and murder mystery combined. It's gripping and fast paced.
This was actually a pretty good read! I thought it was going to be predictable but I still ended up being surprised at the end. Unreliable narrator, plot twists, murder, scheming and a small heist made this very fascinating! 3.75/5
Ugh I‘m going against the grain with this one. Although it had ENORMOUS potential I felt this one fell short. There is this huge build up, some info dumps and BAM the end. Yes there is romance but color me confused as to why it‘s even really part of the story. Literally no effort in building that part of the story. And our plucky heroine just came off as a brat most of the time. Only thing saving it was a few of the twists in plot.
My #doublespin is complete!
It has been too long since I‘ve posted. Been helping a friend with his move and I‘m reading like 7 books all which have yet to grab my attention. Hopefully they will soon! Glad to have this one done! Took a bit to get into but I enjoyed it!

I am extremely excited about the Spooktober Bingo challenge going on next month in the Literally Bookish Facebook group. I usually don‘t like prompt specific challenges because I just want to read what I want to read and I don‘t want to feel tied down to specific things. But their creepy read prompts for next month are absolutely perfect for my reading ⬇️
Committing to read more of my hard copies this month rather than just inhale audiobooks. 👑
I read 22 Audiobooks in July so this is image 1/3 from this pile my favorite was Four Dead Queens, I loved the twists in this book! And yes I messed up on my images and wrote August and I‘m not feeling up to redoing them lol #audiobooks
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 112 #bookstoread #tbrpile #bookstagram
This one was a surprise. At first, Kera seemed like a little spoiled brat to me, until I realized that this was needed for the story and character development. I was impressed #1
Then the story itself turned out to be deeper and more complex than expected. Surprise #2.
And all those twists und turns! Wow! Surprise #3.
I'm deeply impressed, really.
Loved loved loved! Did I mention I loved this book? This book was so fast paced and I could NOT put it down!! Yes I read it all in one sitting. The main character is a tad whiney for me, but the mystery and the love story, TO DIE FOR! It had me guessing right up until it was solved. I love books that can surprise me and this one definently did! I loved the story, the mystery, love story, and just how beautiful this book was. Go read it!!
Bookish Song Nr. 11: Fighter
Deezer recently realized that I'm getting older and has started to come up with songs from my youth. Such as “Fighter“ by Christina Aguilera. And while it played I thought of “Four Dead Queens“ and Keras feelings towards Mackiel. How he “made“ her, but she still found her own way and how her past has made her stronger.

Thrilling, maddening, intoxicating...just a few words to describe the world-wind of ride. Caught between she didn‘t do it, she is so guilty to what the heck is going on around here.
Great book! The mystery behind the timeline really kept me interested
There were aspects of this story I really liked; it‘s well thought out world. That said, for me, the world building became a negative: too much detail slowed the action. I got bored about 30% in and really had to push myself to finish. It picked up again, and I really liked Kera and Varin, but I felt some characters were much more well rounded than others, and not all motives were explained well. Just an ok read for me.

Really great book. Did not see the ending coming at all.
First of all: I‘m on a roll on finishing books this week and writing reviews! Okay, now onto the review!
Rating: 5/5 Stars
I really wished I read this when I got it on my Kindle earlier this year! It had excellent world building, great character development, and I loved the elements of fantasy mixed with mystery. Such a good book with lots of twists and turns.

The world-building in this book is fantastic. There are some unforeseen twists (I didn‘t guess them ahead of time - perfect!) and a satisfying ending. I will be looking for more from this author!
This one was a little hard to get into, with there being a lot of information and lore thrown at you in the beginning, but once I finally got into the world, it was a lot of fun. A fantasy murder mystery that kept me guessing all the way through. I was a little worried I would be able to predict everything that was going to happen, but was pleasantly surprised when all my theories were proven wrong. Overall, 10/10, would recommend.
Pretty good story. The relationships seems to happen a bit too quickly, but over all a decent story with an interesting world that got wrapped up nicely at the end. Fairly easy and quick read as well.
I thought that this book was really interesting. It was interesting to see who the assassin is and it comes back to the main characters. #fourdeadqueens
I liked this book but wish it focused on the fantasy aspects more (ie world building and political intrigue) and less on the murder mystery plot. Also the romance felt very insta lovey and I wasn‘t a fan of that. I guess you could say I wasn‘t a fan of the plots focused on Keralie which is a shame since she is the main character.
My last completed #read of August. I loved it! I'm usually pretty good at predicting the killer in mysteries, but I didn't guess this one. The book was filled with a few good twists. I enjoyed the main character, Kera's, character development. The imagery and descriptions were so vivid. It would make a great movie.
I liked it. I didn‘t see all the twists coming but that‘s ok. I thought it was interesting getting all the perspectives of the queens and solving who the killer was. Wasn‘t who I thought it would be. Spoiler in comments
Ok so it seems my previous theory is actually wrong. But that just makes this even more interesting
Hmm. Could Keralie be Marguerite‘s daughter? 🤔 (don‘t tell me if she is. Haven‘t finished it yet )
A little under halfway in but trying to finish this by the end of the week.
Currently reading. Hope it‘s good
