I enjoyed this. I would recommend it for teens, but it felt like she was trying to make hard topics more digestible with lots of fluff. It was just a bit much at times. The narrator did a fantastic job!

First book of February done and it was my #doublespin for #bookspinbingo - I‘ll be making my board next!
Loved this story about finding oneself in religion and culture and standing up for what your believe in even when it‘s hard to do. What a great story! Highly recommend! The audio was also fantastic!

This is a pick for the second half, I almost DNF‘d it because of the first half. I really enjoyed Allie‘s religious journey in the second half and I feel like it‘s an important book to be out there. I‘m not a religious person myself, but I can appreciate the different religions and it was nice to read about her Muslim journey vs the typical Christian one. #TBRDeckOfCards
Drew my next #TBRDeckOfCards card and conveniently got “girl” in the title after starting All American Muslim Girl today! Perfect timing!
I almost quit on this one early because it felt too immature but I‘m very glad I stuck with it! Very smart, heartwarming look into growing into yourself and navigating culture.
I finished a challenge for the 1st time!!!! I have tried a couple yearly challenges on here and I have never completed them. So I am so proud of myself. This book was a lot deeper than I thought it would be. I learned a lot about being a Muslim in America. One of my coteachers are Muslim so I am glad that I now have a better understanding of her religion.

Found myself with a small case of The Sads today, and worked to defeat it by building a raging fire and putting together a weekend reading stack of my newest acquisitions. What do you do to combat low moods, Littens? Any tips? #currentlyreading #mentalhealth
A few pages pool side before the rain comes.
I‘m the beginning, I didn‘t think this would go in depth on Islam. Actually, I learned a lot about some of the fundamental teachings and where the confusion begins with people who don‘t understand the religion. It definitely tackles stereotypes. Also, I loved the relationship between Allie and her teta 🥰 reminded me of my gram and made me cry 😭❤️
This. Was. Amazing! Do not let the bright cover fool you - a first person view of hate and bias through the eyes of 16 year old Allie. Allie‘s family is Muslim, though not practicing at the moment. Yet, they‘re not immune to hateful speeches and circumstances. This is an eye opening read for YA, so perfectly done. I highly recommend this one. I was so blown away by it I had to keep listening.

Here‘s some pink books I haven‘t read yet - really hard to find pink books lol! Thanks for the tag @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I tag @Chrissyreadit @britt_brooke @LittleBug for blue books!
“All American Muslim Girl” is truly an inspiring book. Allie is a really brave and caring girl. One of my favorite moments from this book is when Allie argues with Jack Henderson. I admire how brave and courageous she is; standing up for Muslims.
Overall, the book is just indescribable. It‘s filled with twists and turns, capturing the reader. Also, it is filled with romance, adventure and much more! I definitely recommend this book!
When the library holds come in at exactly the same time 😂
This was really good! Informative, heartwarming, and relatable. I was drawn in from the first chapter and enjoyed listening to Allie‘s journey in rediscovering her faith and family. I adored the audiobook narrator as well- Priya Ayyar was engaging and funny throughout.

👎Bailed on “Dread Nation,” might return to it later
📘Started “Da Vinci‘s Tiger” today, currently on chapter 3
🎧I followed @Cinfhen‘s advice and started an audiobook. I usually have a hard time getting into audiobooks, but “All-American Muslim Girl” pulled me in from the first chapter. I‘ve been listening while cleaning, #audiocoloring and catching up on Stardew Valley. (Is #audiogaming a thing?) I‘m currently at 49%.
