The ROMANCE. 😍 I honestly didn't know I still had it in me to enjoy a romance-forward book after mainlining them in my 20s, but evidently when a relationship has been built well over three previous books in a series, I can get on board. Raybourn rewards the patience of her readership. 😉 Also didn't know I could dig the gothic vibes, but adding in some tragic/spooky parts to the typical mystery, wit, banter and compassion worked well. 1/2
