How to Date Your Dragon
How to Date Your Dragon | Molly Harper
27 posts | 20 read | 11 to read
The first book in Molly Harper's uproariously funny, sinfully sexy new Mystic Bayou series! Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay's career has taken a turn south. Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations. Mermaids and gator shifters swim in the bayou. Spirit bottles light the front porches after twilight. Dragons light the fires under crayfish pots. Jillian's first assignment for the League could be her last. Mystic Bayou is wary of outsiders, and she has difficulty getting locals to talk to her. And she can't get the gruff town sheriff, Bael Boone, off of her back or out of her mind. Bael is the finest male specimen she's seen in a long time, even though he might not be human. Soon their flirtation is hotter than a dragon's breath, which Bael just might turn out to be... This book is based on the Audible Original audiobook.

Found a bunch of books to read on the Audible Backlog this month.

Texreader Yay!! What are the Audible backlogs? I haven‘t heard of this before 7mo

I have about a 25-30 min drive to work, and because of my little anxiety issue, I usually get their way earlier (like an extra 20ish minutes)... All and all this means that I have plenty of time during my #AudioCommute :) I enjoyed this story. It could have used a little bit more spice though. They are free on Audible, so I will be enjoying Book 2 as well.

Fat bees! My fav!

slategreyskies I‘m the same way about my work arrival time. I leave between 50-60 minutes before my shift starts, and it takes 20-25 minutes to get there. It means I get the parking spot I prefer most days, and it also means I have a chunk of time to mentally prep for work before I have to go in and be “on.” 7mo
ElizaMarie @slategreyskies yes!!! I do enjoy the moments in the morning of just breathing. It‘s a nice quiet before walking into a wild ER 7mo

Thanks @Eggs for the #Two4Tuesday tag! 🤗

1️⃣ A dragon shifter so I could go back & forth from human to dragon, fly, breathe fire & have a treasure hoard. 🐉💎💰👑⚱️

2️⃣ The tagged book is the first in the Mystic Bayou series where shifters & mythical creatures of all kinds live in a small community in the Louisiana bayou.

Eggs ❤️🩵🧡 9mo
TheSpineView It would be fun to be a shifter. Thanks for playing! 9mo

#LuckyInLove

Being #OnADate with a vampire or dragon shifter would be a bit different than your standard dating. Here‘s two paranormal dating titles from two Molly Harper series. The tagged book is the first book in her Mystic Bayou series & Nice Girls Don‘t Date Dead Men is the second book in her Jane Jameson series (which spun off into her Half Moon Hollow series). Both are full of snarky humor.💕

#Scarathon @Clwojick #SpookyGhostClub

This book definitely falls into the fluff category. A quick listen. I liked all the different types of paranormal creatures and that this one community, Mystic Bayou, was a safe haven for all. I also enjoyed that there was a murder mystery as a subplot to the romance. Fun listen and good narration. 4⭐️

DebinHawaii I really enjoy this series & the narration definitely makes it fun! 14mo
TheSpineView @DebinHawaii I plan to listen to the rest of the series! 14mo
DebinHawaii @TheSpineView 👏🏼 Mayor Zed is my favorite! 💚 14mo
TheSpineView @DebinHawaii Yes! I am hoping Jillian's friend ends up in Mystic Bayou. One of the reasons I want to read the rest of the series. I'm invested in what happens. 14mo

😅 I bet more than a few of us can relate to that sentiment

Ruthiella Since none of my family are on Litsy, I can co-sign this sentiment! 😂 3y
ShyBookOwl @Ruthiella LOL that's exactly why I felt safe posting this. No family on Litsy 3y

Listened to this on audible and I really loved it. It was just the right amount of cheesy and sexy and not too long.

For my #audiosouping pic I needed light & fun today & there‘s a new Mystic Bayou novella as part of my Audible membership. So yay! 🎉As usual, it‘s not in the Litsy database yet so I am tagging it under the first book in the series.

Today‘s soup is Nigel Slater‘s Cauliflower & Leek Soup which gets topped with cheesy toast.😋 Finished soup pic coming later.

MicheleinPhilly Before I read your caption I thought, “Is she making soup with...popcorn???” 4y
DebinHawaii @MicheleinPhilly Hah! Well, I have used it as a soup topping so maybe it‘s in the realm of possibility! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 4y
TheAromaofBooks I read a few of these books last year but I think there are at least two new ones!! I need to hunt them down!! 4y
DebinHawaii @TheAromaofBooks I think this one & the one pictured are the two newest! 4y

#MagicalMay #flames

Catch up from yesterday I had a major headache & was home from work & in bed & asleep by 8PM. Anyway, flames make me think of Bael Boone, the sheriff of Mystic Bayou & a dragon shifter. As the series continues, there‘s humor around flames🔥from Bael but especially from his human partner Jillian who has changed from “the rift” that brings supernatural energy to the area & has her own flame-throwing🔥issues. It‘s a fun series.

Eggs Brilliant 🔥 5y

My #audiosouping pick is still not in the Litsy database so I am tagging the first book in the series. Needed something light to listen to & some semi-classic comfort food to eat. This is a vegan version of chicken alphabet soup—using chickpeas in place of poultry. Peas & the bag of pasta alphabets will be added once it simmers a bit. Finished soup picks coming later. 😋🍲

Rather than training a dragon in Berk, this book is about dating a dragon named Bael, the sheriff in the small town of Mystic Bayou, Louisiana. A fun paranormal romance audio series that‘s full of snark, this is the first book & I am about to start the third full-length one. 🐲🐉💚

Cinfhen Ha! Have you heard of this one @Dragon ???? 5y

I'm not much of a romance reader, but the characters are so well written that I'm enjoying this series. I finished this one and went right on to the next. I'm doing the audible original version & the narration is great!

This was a last year audio listen, but back then it wasn't in the Litsy database so I didn't review it. I just finished the second book in the Mystic Bayou series & this is the first. Harper writes such fun, snarky female characters that it makes me want to head to The Rift & get some shifter mojo myself. 😉A fun & funny listen, the narrators do a great job bringing the MCs, Jillian & Bael to life, along with Zeb, the focus of the second book.

Still waiting for Litsy to add this one to the data base so I can stop posting it in the first book in the series as I'm slowly #audiosouping my way through it. Today's soup was started yesterday, Ribollita (twice-boiled) Tuscan bread soup. Finished soup pics coming later. 🍞🍲😋

This week's#audiosouping is actually the 2nd book in the Mystic Bayou series but wasn't in Litzy's database. Come to think of it neither was this one when I listened to it last year.🤷🏼‍♀️It's a cute & funny listen so far, as most of Harper's books are. Bubbling away is Yotam Ottolenghi's Adas Bil Hamoud (Sour Lentil Soup) with lentils, potatoes, & rainbow chard stems; chard leaves & LOTS of lemon to be added. Finished soup pics to come. 🍲❤️

Bookartbookmarks Molly Harper is an author I‘ve wanted to read, but never have. You might have convinced me! 6y
