Not my favorite Cole, but there were several things I liked. Great atmosphere, good world building, fully developed characters, and the snowy remote location. Arden and Gabriel were an engaging couple in this post-apocalyptic romance.

It has to be said that this book has very little point, the first chapter is quite explosive and you think your into a rollercoaster of a ride but your not. It doesn't go anywhere, I fully acknowledge that this is book one in a series so it could be setting the scene and introducing you to the characters but I don't think I could read another sentence to be honest.
This was a good vacay read. She kind of lost me with the whole smooth, hairless chest of the hero and whiny drunk teenager, but I was giggling the whole way through and I promptly bought the rest of the trio. I loved Arden and Gabe and their banter and I just want more of Alyssa Cole‘s writing. So much fun!
How I justify buying books. Need entertainment for the apocalypse.
Just finished this enjoyable post apocalypse romance. First heard about it on the Get Booked Podcast and was lucky to get the ebook on sale. This is a #diverseread and a great introduction to Alyssa Cole. Looking forward to reading another of her ebooks .
#FeistyFeb If it's a book by Alyssa Cole, then I'll be having #ALLTHEFEELS #romansty
Just starting this on my Kobo. My first Alyssa Cole! #romantsy
Loved this one! A post-apocalyptic romance. Arden and her best friend John trek for 100 miles to his family's remote cabin after the power mysteriously goes out and society starts to break down. Once there, tension builds between Arden and John's older brother. Sexy tension! It's more about interpersonal dynamics under stress and forced proximity than it is about the apocalypse. If you're looking for action, there's not much. But it's so good!
It was a little tricky to find page 24 of my current ebook - it only counts the pages in each chapter, and then overall it goes by percent, not page number. Chapter 1 had 21 pages, so I figured page 3 of Chapter 2 was the equivalent. #page24ofyourcurrentread #readjanuary
We're actually pretty low on snacks at my house, but we can usually count on trusty peanut butter crackers. #bookandyourfavesnack #readjanuary
I'm excited about my next read, a romance with a post-apocalyptic setting. An unusual niche in the romance genre! Or at least not one I'm familiar with.
Here's my first book in a series by a person of color for the @bookriot 2016 #readharder challenge! All I need to read now by next Saturday to complete it is a play! Any suggestions? #romantsy
Excited to start this trilogy after hearing Alyssa Cole last weekend at Book Riot Live! I'm laid up with bronchitis this weekend so it seems just the thing to distract me.
All three books in the Off the Grid series are on sale for $0.99 today! Cole writes award-winning, diverse historical, SFF & contemporary romances. This series is a rich, atmospheric trilogy of post-apocalyptic romances (I know, I was skeptical, too, but GREAT). POC MCs and book 2 is M/M. Very cool!
Turns out apocalypse romance might not be my thing after all. I struggled to really care about any of the characters and wanted to know more about the apocalypse. It wasn't bad by any means, just not my thing.
I needed a mental break and romance is my fav. I read all three in this trilogy in four days & they are .99 on Amazon. Great romance great characters
Had no idea apocalypse romance was even a thing. Suspect it might totally be my jam.
I'm trying a post-apocalyptic romance because why not?
A quick enjoyable read. Loved that the mystery of the "apocalypse" wasn't solved by the end. Looking forward to the next in the series.
