Losing Hope Signed Limited Edition
Losing Hope Signed Limited Edition: A Novel | Colleen Hoover
" ... Hopeless, the story of what happened when a troubled girl named Sky encountered a long-lost childhood friend, Dean Holder. With Holder's help, Sky uncovered shocking family secrets and came to terms with memories and emotions that had left deep scars. Hopeless was Sky's story. Now, in Losing Hope, we finally learn the truth about Dean Holder. Haunted by the little girl he couldn't save from imminent danger, Holder's life has been overshadowed by feelings of guilt and remorse. He has never stopped searching for her, believing that finding her would bring him the peace he needs to move on. However, Holder could not have anticipated that he would be faced with even greater pain the moment they reconnect."--Jacket.

Reading Holder‘s story was very eye opening. Makes you see he isn‘t such a jerk and has his own trauma to go through. 💕

At first, I didn‘t think I needed this other POV but when I started to get towards the end, I really appreciated it. It gives me some clarity that I need going into the rest of the series and I really enjoyed hearing this story from the opposite POV.

This was a good one, I had a hard time getting into it and staying invested though with it being so similar to Hopeless.

Hopeless written from Holder‘s perspective. I liked it, but it was pretty repetitive. It was interesting to read the story from the different perspective and see more of Holder‘s story and background, but these kind of books are tough because so much is the same. I still love the first book and I enjoyed this one, too - just not as much as Hopeless.

⭐️⭐️ “Hopeless,” but from Holder‘s POV. I enjoy a good, heart-wrenching #CoHo escape, but this didn‘t feel necessary. Holder‘s constant ruminating is exhausting, and quite honestly, I didn‘t need to re-experience the trauma. I‘m sure I‘ll still finish this series at some point, but not likely soon. And someone, for the love of Pete, get my girl a better editor.

This is the sequel to Hopeless and it follows the same timeline as that book but this story is told from Holder‘s POV. Have Kleenex handy as this is an emotional rollercoaster.

This book 😭😭 I've never read a sequel that was written from another MC's perspective, but was the same timeline as the first. I really love Colleen for doing this because she always uses 1st person narration and a lot of the book is spent inside the MC's head. I loved seeing what was going on with Holder and Les on an even deeper level.

Winston was really interested in this book. 😂

Our first few days in Omaha have been awesome! Is anyone local to the area? Any recommendations for book stores or cool places to see? 😁

BarbaraBB That sounds good and promising 🤍 4y
ravenlee The Book Worm is a great indie bookstore on 84th street, if I recall correctly. 4y
ravenlee Fun stuff to do: the zoo, of course; Durham Museum; Lauritzen Gardens; Fontenelle Forest. 4y

PathfinderNicole I grew up in Iowa only about an hour and a half away from Omaha and I must second the zoo! It‘s so, so amazing 4y
Rachel.Rencher @ravenlee @PathfinderNicole I wouldn't have expected that about the zoo! Every one I've been too has been kind of sad looking. Thank you for the suggestions! 🤗 4y
Rachel.Rencher @BarbaraBB Thank you 🤗 It's about time something goes well this year, lol! 4y
ravenlee The Henry Doorly Zoo is actually one of the top three in the world - you could spend hours there and not see everything. I lived there from 2015-2018 and we used the heck our of our annual pass every year. If you‘re into train stuff there‘s a ton of sites and museums between Omaha and Council Bluffs (they used to do a Railroad Days event in the summer that was hot but awesome), but the Durham has other stuff, too. 4y

We've been driving through Wyoming foreverrrrr. How freaking big and flat is this state?! 😂

Raise your hand if you can read in the car without getting sick! 👋

Daisey 🙋🏼‍♀️Reading in the car does not phase me and I used to do it as much as I could get away with it. 4y
AlaMich I‘m sooo jealous of people who can read in cars. Motion sickness is the absolute worst! 4y
Scochrane26 I‘m jealous of people who can read in cars, too. 4y

Clare-Dragonfly 🙋🏻‍♀️ I don‘t do so well with screens, but I can read a book in a car for quite a while! 4y
Soubhiville 🤢 nope, not me. Audiobooks save the day! 4y
CoverToCoverGirl Nope, I suffer from horrendous car sickness if I do, so it‘s audio books for me. 4y
ImperfectCJ In the car, it's audiobooks only for me, but my kids can read for hours (as long as it's not too bumpy/curvy). I drew the short straw on two different road trips and got to drive the length of Wyoming and the Florida panhandle (with my spouse snoring in the passenger seat the whole way). Longest drives of my life. 4y
kspenmoll ✋🏻 I am lucky; I have always been able to read in cars! 4y
dragondrool The car is my favorite place to read. Living in Montana, I've ridden across Wyoming many times. We tried playing I Spy once on our way to Denver, but it was challenging to come up with something other than, “I spy...something that is brown.“ 4y
Rachel.Rencher @dragondrool Hahaha! Yep, we tried that. 🤣 Next we have to drive across all of Nebraska so I'm assuming it'll be the same again lol. 4y
SaunteringVaguelyDownwards ✋I was always reading in the car as a child, even on night trips to my grandparents house out of state! My dad was always flabbergasted that it didn't make me sick. 4y

Day 2: YA or Adult, I read both genre and while I love YA, I gravitate towards Adult more often than not but I still love a good YA book and I love NA too. See I can't choose. I just can't haha. Which is your preferred genre? #melandprireadathon
.
#readathon update I finished reading Addicted After All by @kbmritchie I just can't get enough of this series. I'm now on book two it's a Mills & Boon book by @authornalinisingh called Bound by Marriage.

Cinfhen Not a fan of YA 🙄I love a good memoir and I appreciate contemporary & historical fiction😄 7y
pri_bibliophile @Cinfhen thank you! This comment made me feel so good for some reason! I saw one comment on Instagram, someone reposted this picture and gave me shoutout so on that picture, one person said only YA for me! Adult books are porn in a book basically. It made me so sad seeing that! How can degrade a genre like that with a false belief?! Also I feel like I'm slowing moving on from YA too 7y
Cinfhen People say such dumb things some times 😡😤everyone should read what they enjoy & just be open to other types of books.... 7y
pri_bibliophile @Cinfhen exactly!! Ugh! The best we can do is ignore those people and force on the nice bookish people, which is easier since there are so many nice people in this community 😊 7y

I wasn't sure how I would feel going into this, but I enjoyed it. I liked see what Holder was doing when Sky wasn't with him. But I could of done without the same exact scenes in both books (and skimmed those parts).

Summer Vacation Day 8: I finished Hopeless today, and took the pack for a walk to our waterfall before starting Losing Hope. When we got there, all 4 dogs wanted to take a swim in the small pond at once. Dharma (the white Olde English bulldog shaking off), was the only one successful in submerging herself. Connor is the tan Golden-doodle, Randy is the black Bouvier/coyote mix, and Krishna is the smaller brown and white Olde English bulldog. 💕
