This book ripped my heart out and stamped on it. Had to stop reading to my kid coz I was crying too hard. In my top 10 of 2024. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What the hell, Rick Riordan? I trusted you!
Ok, trauma aside, this was a really good installment, with a lot of forward momentum. We‘re heading for a showdown and the stakes can‘t get much higher. Riordan started with an Apollo who grated on my every nerve and has managed to make him, well, human and sympathetic.
4.75/5. This book left me emotionally damaged even though I knew what was coming #percyjackson #rickriordan

This book felt more serious than any of his others. More loss and sadness. The story was still great, but I was a bit caught off guard.
This took me a while to read, but I enjoyed it
Tbh, this book really depressed me. It made me wish I had just stopped with the Heroes of Olympus series because it spoiled a lot of the endings that we were left with. There was good character development throughout it though.
“Reading” during my daily commute helps me unwind and relax even though I have to drive. It also helps me get through more books than I can physically read.
Oh boy..this book is a doozy.
Trials is a perfect word for this book, because damn does a lot happen in this one. None of which benefit our former immortal god.
Be prepared for some rather jarring surprises in this one, especially if you've read the other series Rick Riordan had written.
"This, I thought, was being human. Standing on the tarmac, watching mortals load the body of a friend and hero into the cargo hold, knowing that he would never be coming back. Saying good-bye to a grieving young woman who had done everything to help us, and knowing you could never repay her, never compensate her for all that she‘d lost."
These lines always hit a sweet spot in my heart.

Rick Riordan never disappoints. Now to wait for the release of book four.

My daughter has discovered Rick Riordan, which is amazing! She takes the dust jacket off our books and leaves fingerprints, which is not so awesome, but I love these reminders of how much she is loving the world Riordan creates. I love it too- this was better than the second Apollo book.
Worst part of finishing a book in a series. Oh well, fall 2019 isn't that far off anyway...
“But from now on, I would be more than Lester. I would be more than an observer.
I would be Apollo
I would remember”
-Lester Papadopoulos (Apollo)
It‘s not you, Apollo/Mr. Riordan, it‘s me. You see, there are two more books yet unreleased in this series and I don‘t have it in me to read this book only to have to WAIT, so it‘s back on the #TBR until the series is fully published and I can read the rest all in one go. See ya in a few years, buddy. (And I really can‘t wait for my Little Bug to meet you in a decade or so!)

And now for something completely different.

Why does Rick have to write such heartwrenching books. This one threw me for a loop emotionally.
Finally finished this! For some reason this didn‘t really grab me at any point. Maybe because I mostly kept thinking about what a nightmare it would be to translate😂 But I‘m looking forward to the next part! #occupationalhazards
I‘ve been reading in between cooking and prepping for my next #dnd session and Apollo‘s haikus give life. They‘re so bad they circle right back into being great😂
?"Remember what it's like to be human."?
I hope it's okay to put my fanart on this app.
The words are from Famous Last Word by My Chemical Romance, because they reminded me of this part of the book.

I started reading The Burning Maze to get a little more time on the clock and I‘m proud to say that for my first #24in48 I read for 14 hours! I started to lose some steam in the afternoon and the last half hour to 14 was the longest half an hour ever but I made it and now I can get some much needed sleep!
1. Read minds!!! 2. Done 3. So many. Started a meditation class. Doing a lot of habit changing. Hopefully I‘ll get past week two of February. That‘s when everyone abandons ship apparently. 4. Movie mostly but been meaning to start Riverdale. #friyayintro @howjessreads
This is so sad, Alexasiriastrophona play despacito
From The Trials of Apollo book three: The burning maze. We love botany 🌻🌼🌸🌺🌹🌷💐❤️
From The Trials of Apollo book 3: The Burning Maze. I‘ve got a bad feeling about this...
Oh my goodness! I could not stop listening to this #audiobook! I had it playing while I was shelving library books, cleaning, cooking, etc. I just had to see how it ended! While I wasn‘t thrilled by the fate of a character, there was well executed build up to what happened. Honestly, everything that happens in the book was excellently built up to. This might be my favorite book in this series!
In this third installment of The Trials of Apollo, god-turned-mortal Apollo has to shut down a burning maze that‘s destroying Southern California and rescue another oracle from the grip of the Triumvirate, three resurrected Roman emperors who want to—what else?—take over the world. Although there are plenty of humorous quips here and Percy Jackson‘s best friend Grover returns (yay!), there is tragedy, too. But Apollo learns more humility, so 👍.
With a few exceptions I was not wowed by the previous entry in this series. This one was far more captivating.
There is a massive plot event in this book that will leave you staggered. Even though the author warned you it would happen, it made it no easier to bare.

1. Probably anything Star Wars - especially the little kid spinoffs - Battle for Endor etc
2. French fries!
3. I am into the top 40 lately I am ashamed to say I binge listen to I Like It by Cardi B - I blame my workout dance classes
4. Look 👀 up
5. Yes yes 😊 #friyayintro

I should do some laundry but after a morning workout and an hour pool side I‘m feeling too relaxed to move. Reading the latest Riordan which dives right into the action. Apollo is a lot more likable as a pimply red headed human. Lol. #dogsoflitsy #25infive
I‘m very excited to be diving into this book. I‘ve been reading Rick Riordan‘s Greek/Roman books for almost 10 years now. I adore this newest series with Apollo who is a very unique character. I‘m eager to see where Lester (aka Apollo) and Meg take me this time.
I think I‘m going to DNF this... I think at this point I‘m over Riordan‘s books, the first few series were enjoyable but after so many I can‘t get into them. :(
Brief departure from “Bee Larkham” because this is due tomorrow and has a hold on it. (AKA: the story of my life, someone really needs to teach me self-control.) #thetrialsofapollo #theburningmaze #rickriordan
Uncle Rick‘s back making me feel all the things. This time about Fred Rogers
Nice to see some old faces. Another fun adventure with Apollo and friends
I really liked this book. I am a huge fan of Riordan's books. I love all he writes but I didn't love The Trials of Apollo at first. I didn't like Apollo and his personality as a human. So the first book was not THAT good for me... though I really enjoyed the second one and I *loved* this one. The Burning Maze has broken my heart and I need the next book ASAP!
The best one so far, I‘m very emotional right now
Loved it! No spoilers, but there were tears.
I've been waiting like two weeks for this book to arrive at my door and i can't be more excited!!!! I love this man's writing and i can't wait to start ittt
Glad Litsy‘s back up!! :) I missed all of you Littens!
I‘m currently on vacation... and what‘s the first thing I do? Find the nearest Barnes & Noble! XD I bought a couple sequels I‘ve been waiting to read.
@Elisa I can start that buddy read now ;)
I'm trying to read this book but Rick Riordan's writing had gotten quite insufferable in this book. He tries to keep up with Apollo being vain but takes it too far and tries to combine that with the humour in Percy Jackson which just didn't work. It feels like it's dragging on and on.

Back to Apollo's trials and matching my mug tonight to my #currentlyreading
It's here!!!! Finally!!😆
I have waited sooo long for this one...You go Uncle Rick!!
When you find yourself in the middle of two good series at once... it's hard to determine which one to spend time reading.
#bookwormproblems
I kind of loved this book. While Rick Riordan is one of my insta-buy authors this is by far my least favorite series. I like Meg, and I love revisiting my favorite demi-gods.... I could not like Apollo/ Lester. He had no talents and complained a lot. I mean a lot. It was tiresome having everyone save his butt and he didn't seem to get it at all. In the second book he began to show personal growth, respect. Here it's even better. 4 ☆
