A book that‘s been on my shelf for over 5 years is now #OffMyShelf 🎉

While I thought the pacing was inconsistent between the various time periods, I did enjoy this story. And now I want to go to Provence. 🇫🇷

Ruthiella Nice! 👍 3mo
Bookzombie You are really knocking these out! It‘s awesome! 3mo
marleed It‘s such bonus when a book languishing on my own shelves is a pick. I save my 5*: A+ and 4.75*: solid A reads. So if the book is really good, it‘s a dang, but I didn‘t clear my shelf situation! 3mo
wanderinglynn @marleed I‘m okay keeping the book – as long as I‘ve read it. 😉 I‘m trying to get books off my TBR shelf. Or rather my TBR bookcase, which has gotten out of control. 3mo

A charming, heart-warming read.

The characters were lovely, and the story line was creative, uplifting, and positive.

What a great book! Picked it up randomly at the library ages ago and was going to return without reading it but I'm so glad I did. Charming without being sappy!

Trying to decide what to start next - I have 2 library books, an ARC on the kindle, and #lmpbc (although I've already read that book many years ago - the Eyre Affair). Decisions, decisions....

monalyisha The Lost Carousel looks pretty! 🎠 💜 6y
YasmiNova I'm minded to say The Silent Patient, just because of the author's Cypriot roots :) 6y

Such a sweet story!!! A loner all her life, Candy steps outside her comfort zone to follow a mystery and her dream. She finds her place in the world and so much more. While a little slow at times, I‘m so glad I stuck with it!!! 😁💜

I really loved this sweet read! Told from multiple POVs and traveling back and forth in time, we learn about the making of carousels. I enjoyed the characters and the setting, and really just wanted to stay within the pages of this book! I voluntarily reviewed an eARC copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I‘ve been dealing with one of life‘s curveballs, healthwise, so have had a lot of time to read lately. The graphic here shows a few of the books I‘ve finished. This one by Juliet Blackwell was a lovely little diversion. If you enjoy Blackwell‘s other books, you‘ll like this one.

kspenmoll I have enjoyed her books, thanks for referral! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Sending you hugs, from one who understands that type of curveball. ❤️ 7y
MaleficentBookDragon I‘m right there with you. I hope things improve for you. 🤗 7y

I won an ARC of this, and honestly, I‘m on the fence. 20 pages in and there‘s an almost tangible feeling to the book (like, I can practically hear café music) but the author is just rushing the plot. Characters appear like a damn magic trick with little to no context. The contemporary plot is so forced, it feels like I‘m being begged to believe it.
