My new favorite from one of my favorite authors.
1. I don't think I've ever read one (other than non-fiction)! I just looked to see if there are any fantasy set in national parks and didn't find one either. Bummer 😏 The tagged sounds interesting!
2. I've wanted to see Acadia for a while!
3. I have a few there already 😉

Read this on my kindle a few years back.

Started reading this this morning between cleaning and laundry and I will probably finish it tonight. Predictable, but good feels. The kids remind me of my nephews.
This sat in my tbr pile for a while because it looked kinda sad and depressing. I was wrong, it was a great read! Yes, some parts you may need to have the tissues handy but overall the book is pretty inspiring and thoughtful. My tbr is officially empty, I guess it's time for some rereads.
August, a recovering alcoholic, is on a summer long vacation to Yellowstone to memorialize his dead son. His ride breaks down. The mechanic offers the fix for free if he takes his 2 sons on the trip with him. He's headed to jail for 90 days and has no one to look after the kids. August says yes and changes their lives forever. This book was beautiful and heart-wrenching and my only gripe, at times felt sanitized. Still, a great read.
By a new-to-me author whom I will certainly look forward to reading more, this story grabbed me right away and left me wanting more time with the characters while still having a satisfying ending. (Read for my real life book club, which is 3 for 4 so far in book choices!)
I have so so much love for this book! I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever even glanced in it's direction! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Typical Sunday at our house 🤓💚💛
Hubs is still at the farm and since I can't sleep when he's not home I guess it's time to start a new book all cozied up for the night!
OMGGGGGGGG how good was that book????? I loved it! The characters, August, Seth & Henry, the dialogue, the messages & words of wisdom. The dog, Woody. The camping, the hiking, the climbing. There were parts where I cried my eyes out. Didn't know the author wrote Pay it Forward, too. Saw the movie, haven't read the book. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterT Next up will be my first #GameOfTomes #LitsyGoesPostal book swap book!
Needed a little ice cream to go with my Friday night read. I'm only 42% into my 2nd book 📚 of the year, #T of #LitsyAtoZ, due to a busy work week and taking care of my 89-yo mom, but this book is REALLY GOOD!!!! I'm kind of glad I haven't had time to read because I don't want it to end. I love these characters a lot.
Hyde is one of my favorite go-to authors. I listened to 80% of this on audible, then finished up tonight on the Kindle. Enough suspense to keep you on edge, enough humor to keep smiling, and - as all her books- enough tear-jerking to regret any eye make-up. She has a magical way with words as she creates characters of real depth. I KNOW August and those boys.
This book was so good! Not what I was expecting at all, very thought provoking and emotional, but in a good way.
