"Teddy had never really had friends like Jillian before -- friends who knew so much about her, who understood parts of her that she didn't or couldn't express. She flushed. She felt trapped, claustrophobic."

I picked this up cuz the review “gossip girl meets Harry Potter” And was entranced the entire book.
Life in the dessert doesn‘t often bring enough rain (for this pluviophile). But it‘s been a gray week and a very rainy morning. It. Is. Glorious. 💙🌧⛈🌧💙 (Pic is a view of a corner of our backyard .. flowers courtesy of prior owner.)
I finished this book last night in a long sprint. I found it frustrating and a bit overdone, but nevertheless entertaining and quick paced. Overall 🌟🌟🌟. See Goodreads for full review (link in profile).
👏🏽👏🏽 #bookmail #litsymail #LMPBC !
Thank you @Chrissyreadit for such a fun pkg! I‘m geeked to read our next book (Nathan‘s?), & I love everything else!! The teas smell soooo good — can‘t wait to try them! And the cool notebook, pencils, highlighters, bookmarks, & library cards are all yummmmy goodies for my office-supply loving soul 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for such a lovely pick me up!! ♥️♥️♥️
Also..wearing the fabulous slippers from the amazing👇🏽
I don‘t want to say too much this this is a #LMPBC book, but I am so interested to know what @Avanders and @TK421 also think. I was definitely in agreement with @cobwebmoth
About halfway through this one. Kind of reminds me of a more mature Harry Potter or maybe a cousin to the Magicians...but with psychics
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I dreaded finishing this book because I knew I was going to be missing some these characters and I already am.
Truth be told, Archer created an interesting set of characters that felt very real and flawed and I loved that because I can relate to a flawed character.
If this had been presented as a book for young adults, I would have been all over it. However, the book features people in their 20s and over who whine like teenagers and that just blew it for me. I asked @MidnightBookGirl to summarize the ending for me so I wouldn't have to keep reading.
There are a lot of fans out there for this book, but it wasn't for me.
Perfect beach read. If you like Harry Potter you will probably be into this.
First day of vacation. This morning was gross from T.S. Alberto but the afternoon turned out to be beautiful.
Bar reads. Hubby let me escape from the kids, so I impulse shopped at B&N. Enjoying this so far with a cocktail.
Quick read
I plan on making this a weekly fun meme, so welcome to #SundaysInBedWith! @petersonks15 and I have post this every Sunday on our blog just to share what we're reading.
Right now I'm really digging the audiobook for School for Psychics!
Started this on #librofm and I like it so far! Also, waiting on my magical powers.
This one started off with promise, and I wanted to love it, but it lacks development of the characters. I‘m not ruling out reading the second installment.
Got this today and man does it sound good! Secret society, strong female lead character and telepathy. Winner, winner chicken dinner 🤩
I saw this at the store when I was buying lunch, and I just had to have it! It blurbs as “Harry Potter with a cast of millennials” BUT I think it‘ll be a fun, sassy read with a touch of magical elements to it. #schoolforpsychics #mountTBR
OMG! I really enjoyed this title! It sucked me in from the beginning and I could not put it down! I'd recommend this fast read title for something different. I thought it was well written, moved along at a suitable pace, was intriguing, and left me searching for when the next in the series come out, but considering this one was just released April 3, I'm going to be waiting a bit.
If you enjoy stories that involve all things psychic then this one is for you! It was a lot of fun and I‘m looking forward to book two.
This one goes on sale today! If you have one, stop in at your local indie! It‘s a really quick and fun read. Reminded me of the Magicians. Only, I finished this one. 😅
Teddy Cannon has a gambling habit & a large debt to a loan shark. To make matters worse, she's now banned from most of the casinos in Vegas. The 1st chapter opens with her entering a casino incognito & ends with her being recruited to attend a school - for psychics. A mysterious man appears to throw the loan shark off her trail while explaining that she isn't just a gifted gambler, she has psychic abilities that could be of use to the U.S.
I beg to differ, coffee and tea are my favorite types of caffeine, and I function with no problems. 😂😂
Started this one last night and I'm getting an Xmen, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D vibe so far. I did some research and came up with this fun tidbit:

Book's pub date is 4/3/18. #netgalley
Meh. This wasn't a horrible book but it didnt completely meet my expectations. It has a young adult feel to it, but is marketed as adult fiction and definitely has adult moments. I jist had trouble remembering that the characters were in their mid to late 20s because they acted sometimes like high school or freshmen in college kids.
Finishing this one up today and currently to the soundtrack of Despicable Me 3. Then, to decide what book to read next... So many choices!
This book just kept getting worse and worse. I had to bail.
Parent pickup reading material. Not too bad so far. Definitely feels like something I've read or seen already which is a little disappointing. I also have to keep reminding myself that Teddy is 24 because for some reason, her actions and dialogue make me feel like she's younger. Hmmm
I am so about this book. School for Psychics had a bit of everything I love: supernatural elements in a "normal" world, an angsty main character who is faulty to the max, but who you end up growing to love, a mystery that keeps turning on its head, and a cast of characters that have their own problems & self-interest.
Bring on the next installment - I'm ready for Teddy and her antics, her problems, and her growth as a psychic.
Thanks to NetGalley!
This has a X-Men sort of feel to it so far and I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that.
Day off from work, and a stack of books waiting for me to read them. 😊
Such fun! A girl in her mid 20‘s is recruited to attend a school for those with psychic abilities. A sort of Harry Potter for adults. Boarding school. Evil secret organization. Dead parents. Kindly head of school. Small group of misfit friends. All familiar tropes but I really couldn‘t stop reading it. Thanks to #NetGalley. (It‘s a read now book if you‘re a member) This one comes out in April.
On vacation but trying to read when I can. A morning stop for some cafe au lait and beignets. When in New Orleans...
Well that was fun! Not the most original, very reminiscent of the Magicians and also Lexicon (which is soooooooooooooo good, the best of its kind if you ask me), but really fun. It‘s a quick read. And I‘m definitely hooked for the sequel.
Snagging every second I can to get in some reading. My MIL is with my youngest and my oldest is at school. I‘m just sitting in the car in the parking lot. These moments are so rare - like 💰. My favorite conversation to have is hearing about how parents who have survived the toddler years spend all their free time. 😅
School for psychics? Sign me up! First in a series. Fun, romp of a book with nice set up for the school and then nice transition into the primary thriller-like adventure. Read straight through. Recommended. #netgalley
Found this ARC at work tonight and I‘m pretty excited about it.
Today was a great day to score some ARCs! #perksofbookselling #advancedreaderingcopies #24in48 here I come!
The book sounds like a fantastic distraction from my TBR! I may just have to dive in. Decisions. Decisions.
